I'd say in retrospect that very brief transmissions were unnecessary

We were concerned about the direction-finding recievers that we were told you had. The shorter our transmissions, the less time Jerry had to triangulate. It was all moot, cos after 20 minutes listening to Guy blocking the channel and revealing our positions with his bad singing, we switched our sets off.

Heh, that would have been an amazing bit of prop building, sadly beyond the capabilities of even CiA. :giggle: Well, sort of. The HQ radio picked Headshot up well and the DF picked up Pete better so I'd say that placed HS south and Pete north - hey that's direction finding. Brilliant, we did do it!

we werent there after 10 mins, and we'd turned our radio off as Guy's singing was attracting unwanted attention... could say he gave our position away, but then again, the shooting and pyro may have done also.

How did you know it was me telling Guy to get bent Chomley? hehe

Have you not heard of Amateur Radio Direction Finding?

Well neither had I until about 2 days before the event.

 Ah, but we don't wear lycra. Enemy roughly northish and southish was sufficient for us. What was much more successful was picking up Webby's iPhone signal and tracking that on Google Earth. We lost Headshot's signal as his bluetooth transmission was too far away.

Thinking about it, the German's field telephones didn't have a Google Earth ap installed - hmmm, I must have dreamt about us tracking you by mobile phone. Or made it up.

hehe! Using satelites like off've 24 to listen in on HS's briefing at the start! Either that or the sheep in the field with laser microphones, we did wonder why all of the sheep were running towards us, we thought it was just because they'd seen martin!
