Not long now
I was watching TV this morning and gold is now at £1000 per OZ.
The bars we have for this game by size would be worth about £300,000 each

This got me thinking back to when I first started work some 20+ years ago.
One of the guys I used to work with was in his 60's then Paul Higgins was his name he lived here in Liverpool and for all I know could be dead by now so there is probably nothing wrong in me telling this on a forum.
Anyway he was in the British army in WW2 he never told me what regiment and I never asked, but once we were talking about the war and he got round to telling me that while in France he was carrying a gold bar around for several months in his kit bag together with an accordion that he had always wanted to own. He would not tell me where and how he had acquired the items I can only guess.

However after several months he could no longer cope with the weight so buried the items in a French field, no he didn't tell me where and he never went back for them either, well so he told me.

Anyway the guy was quite an honest bloke not given to lying so I would say it is true, I wonder if it was ever found.
