Today, Oddball Tiny and myself did a site visit, and did a full recce of the tunnels.
The tunnel area is now 95% clear, hardley any tunnels have rubble in them anymore.
50% of the site is lit up, and by august that will be more like 75%.
So there will be some areas In TOTAL DARKNESS approxamatly 25%
about 50% of the site is in low light conditions, (think country lane at night, 1 streetlamp every 25 yarrds or so)
and about 25% of the site has office style lighting.
The floor is solid rock, with a bit of dust in some places, and damp but no puddles or standing water.
Ill be posting up a Kit list in the coming days of few items that all players MUST bring with them
The site Is absolutley amazing, it was as much fun walking round and looking at, without even playing. Roll on when the troops get down there
Germans, Russains and Americans , will all have a great game,(but i cant say to much too soon ) and the site can easily accommidate the numbers.
a more in depth update will follow on this thread, but im off to bed tonight, and as photos/film become availible, ill post them up here.
I cant wait till august

INTRODUCTION TO THE GAME SCENARIO.
Below is the video of the tunnel entrance, on the day, the game plot will start from the end of the video.
Oddball Is working out how to sneak the US team in, when some unannounced and maybe unwanted allies show up
Have The Soviets alerted the Germans? Maybe things just got harder for the American "secret mission"

Yes, we did a site visit, and yes, it was a good day. SOOOOOOOO much fun just to walk around in the tunnels picturing all the different ways the game could pan out, right in front of us(even with the open day 'shoot anyone wearing a tin helmet you see' scenario that seemed to be going on). It inspired us with some new ideas, and confirmed some existing ideas we had. As Porta said, I cant wait till we get down there on the day!
As for the trailer of the game............. WATCH IT...............................What more can I say? It does what it says on the tin. german dude guarding a tunnel........ Yankee dude watching......... soviet dude being a sneaky little bugger and 'finding' an entrance for anyone who fancies going in
My Two Cents.....

Weapons:-

Dboys K98
MG42
Thompson
plus loads of other modern day crap
Yes great site visit.
Boots
Tiny now knows he will not be wearing hobnail boots for this site after falling over twice while only walking in these tunnels.
Torch
Also everyone must remember to bring a torch with them on the day, preferably a period looking model or something simple no 20000000 candle power jobs please or laser sights
Ammunition
Ammunition and grenades (ball and stick) will be available to buy on site on the day.
Food & Drink
Also food will be available as far as we know up to this point, but please bring food and water with you there will not be a lunch break in this game so any sustenance will be carried with you in game or left at a CP.
Ghost
The tunnels are haunted apparently buy a Polish Ghost who was a Nazi sympathiser, he was a prisoner who was working on the tunnel digging.
Apparently he likes red lights so torches with a red tint to them would be nice if you want some attention from him.
MAP
A map will also be provided on the day and I would advise you all to bring a pen with you to mark out key points on the map as you find them
Over night camping
We have now been informed camping on site from Saturday night will be an option. You can either sleep in the complex, tent up in the woods or sleep in your car.
Free speech is expensive these days!
For those who really want to get to know the ghost well, his name is Oswald.
When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

heres another video of the site from a few years ago, its not in such good nick now, a lot more mould and rot as the dehumidifiers are offline.
but it gives you an idea of the age and condition
and turn the music off, it can be annoying

We still have computers like that laying about in our Exchanges
Last time I was in Wigan I found a CBM pet probably worth a few quid as an antique now

That's not from a few years ago I don't think - looks like last year! The computers & stuff are still there (although I don't remember seeing the manual telephone exchange) - they even had a shot of my Fallen Madonna with the Big Boobies (by Von Clomp) left after "The Boryszyn Loop" game in Jan 2010.
