Hi Folks, thanks for your replies, We have decided to use Razorllght's suggestion, rotation breaks so still leaves men on the line, but we will leave it up to those who do or do not want to leave the field for a 15 min break. You don't need to go back to the base you can go to rear of lines that are safe, but please do not remove safety glasses. Please inform your CO on the day what you are doing, so he knows where you are. I have now written the break into the brief.
Thank you Steve

As its only a single day event, personally I think personal breaks should just be taken in game. Keeps the immersion that way too.

Just my 2p worth!

I am happy to snack on my Anzac biscuits whenever there's a lull in the fighting :good:
We would need a larger Aussie contingent to make a field barbie worthwhile

Speaking of tea, I'll remember to pack some kit for emergency brew ups at the CP!

I'd err on the side of a break. The only reason I say that I've been to games where there's a firefight going on and 30 or 40 yards behind there's a bunch of guys eating there sandwiches. Not really helping in the immersion of a WW2 engagement. I suppose a suggestion might be since there's 3 sections on each side, that at 1.00pm, 1 section on each side fall back for 15 minutes and eat then are replaced by the next one 15 minutes later. That way you'd keep 2 sections in the line over the scoff period, with the others dropping well back to eat. Keeps the fighting numbers even. 45 minutes later both sides are back to full strength. Just a thought. It would help in the mindset of following orders as WW2 soldiers did.

maybe add some recon objectives for small patrols, whilst those who want a break can do so?

I like the idea of Razorlight. Much more realistic.
