been working hard on the Jeep body tub for imp1864's suzuki based Willys Jeep
Floor pan in body to chassis mounts all made and welded on , rear lights modified to take indicators and fitted to tub, steering column modified and ready to fit when wiring done and tub ready to fit to chassis, all primed with red oxide and 2 heavy coats of Light olive drab. need to turn the tub over next to put in some seat strengthening mounts then prime and paint the under side, all the instrument bezzels are painted as is the steering wheel.
engine and gearbox are out and the new transfer box has the prop brake fitted

Nice! And pretty rare these days too, with 16" rims and bargrips and cutting the front fenders it will immediately look more like a ww2 jeep!

made most of the steering components today, then test fitted the wheel and column , also got all the footman loops and the tool straps test fitted too

Had a ride in the freezing cold & snow today with some fellows from a vehicle-club.

To summ it up:
- 2 Jeeps
- 3 Dodges
- Cold, even with two layers of thermo underwear
- 1 jeep a bit stuck in a pool of mud, ice and water
- 2 Dodges who suddenly thought it would be nice to do a 90-degree turn, including me
- No harm was done to the animals in the forrest
- Nice trip trough the country side in the south of Holland and a small part in Belgium

Participants;

Dodge which just did a 90degrees turn (even with 4wd turned on);

The frontwheels don't have any grip anymore and the rear do, so the rear pushes on and the front just 'slips' to the side. Happens in a split second. Kind of strange when it happens and you just don't expect it. No problem, Dodge in the reverse to backup and just continue.

first post, I use to have a 1944 jeep and a 1943 dodge wc54. now stuck with a 68 beetle that needs alot of work to make it ww2 style.
