infantry will always be more useful for whatever army than airborne , less glam but there were relatively few battles with airborne troops compared to regular infantry .better to start with kit that will get the most use then add to it the bits that convert it to more elite units at a later date , not what you want to hear but it's sound advice.

there's a group of american player's called "Dog company " but i'm not sure where they are based but they come to all the southern games with a yank side.

The easiest thing is to start with airsoft at a local site and then when you have UKARA sorted buy something WW2 era instead of the usual M4. In the mean time look out for some basic uniform and a helmet. There is no reason not to wear WW2 gear to a normal airsoft game and you may find that other people have ww2 gear or are interested in doing some WW2 airsoft. It's also useful to look for local WW2 re-enactment groups on Facebook, some of them may do some airsoft, they will certainly know where to get useful items locally etc.
