Germans

Heer Infantry Gebirgsjager:
Any fieldgrey uniform acceptable, Splinter A smocks and helmet covers are allowed but please keep camouflage to a minimum where possible. Helmets are preferred, any non FJ model is fine. This unit will be further split into regular infantry and Gebirgsjager

Waffen SS Grenadier:
As above but addition of any SS camouflage acceptable.

Soviets

Soviet Infantry:
The Soviet Obr35 uniform is the preferred choice but the Obr43 is acceptable along with look alike. Subdued or full colour infantry insignia is fine. This is a Winter battle so padded uniforms, ushankas and greatcoats are fine should you choose to wear one in June! (summer uniforms are fine too). Helmets are preferred but pilotkas are ok too.

Naval Infantry Regiment:
As above but with the Black/ Dark Blue and White striped naval shirt. The correct navy pea coats and bell bottoms are also good. Crossed bandoliers are optional. Soviet navy tally cap for this impression are a must have.

Workers Militia
Any partisan type impression, please be aware though that these unit were mostly very under equipped and that may be reflected in our game. You are not frontline soldiers of the red army more hastily thrown together groups of people who know that everyone must do their part to defend the city.

Weapons:
Rifles are encouraged so any wood stocked rifle is perfectly fine. Any Soviet or German weapon preferably anything fitting time period.

That should be black and white naval shirt/vest (telnyashka) for the naval infantry; blue and white was airborne.

Quite correct mate :good: , but Dark Blue stripped telnyashka are for navy troops so either is acceptable.

Black and white Telnyashka weren't introduced until the Naval Infantry were reformed in the 1960s. All Telnyashkas in wartime were navy blue.

Thanks for your question Nick, we have tried to keep unit as uniform as possible so if you can stick with the guidelines for the units then that would be great :good:

Just a quick question; would you prefer jack boots or low boots and puttees for RKKA?

Regards,

Ralph

If I might stick my oar in yet again; fake leather jackboots were more common by this point, (though not well liked by the troops). Puttees over low boots do offer much more ankle support though, I managed to sprain my ankle at Cold war wearing jackboots. :slap:

Oh blimey!

I've got puttees on order with the rest of my Soviet kit but I already have some of those Finnish jack boots. Decisions decisions.

Ralph

Put your jackboots on, you'll look like a Russian :)

My order turned up today but the trousers are the wrong size and do not fit. Is there anything else you would be OK with me wearing with an m43 gymnastiorka? E. G. Khaki drill trousers. I figure if I wear the jack boots you would really be able to tell from a distance

Regards,

Ralph

Has nyone got a spare Pilotka or Ushanka I can shamelessly borrow, please? I could have sworn I had an M35 Helmet but the only one I can find is an SSH68! Might be a tad off! :D

Man freak size due to the density of my skull. :D

58? 59?

I'll gladly wash it afterwards incidentally. Don't expect you to have to contend with my acrid man sweat post game.
