Seems to have taken off in a big way at SELWG.

Not sure if I'm massive on the figures. My Shamrock Chargers were plastered in flash, removing it was problematic even with a decent file, resulting in some desecrated detail here and there.

It's quite a fun set of rules though, probably the best Mantic game I've played to date. Their figures are, however, reasonably priced. A complete team will set you back £15.

Maybe worth a punt (pardon the pun), if you fancy a cheap game, with not a lot to paint. Just be wary when prepping them. :good:

Not played it yet, but I play lots of Bloodbowl and can't help thinking that Mantic ripped it off.

"Will you stop talking about the war!!"
"What, you started it!"
"We did NOT start it!"
"Yes you did, you invaded Poland..."

To be fair to Mantic, Bloodbowl wasn't a particularly original idea in the first place, and Dreadball plays very differently, from what I've seen. It's not like 'fantasy football' can have too many different variables.

Having said that, I was never a big fan of BB, and so haven't played DB, just watched a couple of games played out.

Yes I play it. It's a great game! We're currently running a League in Chesterfield. I even manage to get a few games in with my 7-year-old son.

As for the whole bloodbowl thing.. read this: http://quirkworthy.com/2012/08/27/dread ... -the-room/
(That's by the game designer)

Definitely seems nice and easy to get into.

Not to mention, GW hardly support their Specialist Games. Our local GW store won't allow anything other than 40k and Fantasy to be played, which is a real shame considering Epic is, for my money, their best system. I like Blood Bowl a lot, but Dreadball feels easier to play.

It's certainly faster moving and a game can take a lot less time.

Our club meets for 3 hours. You'd struggle to get a BB game in. It's normal to get two DB games in.

Here's a few pics of my DB stuff:

You mean Warpath? - I've not tried that and wasn't that impressed with the rules when I read them, they didn't "grab" me.

So far with Mantic stuff I've got:
Dreadball: see above
Deadzone: sci-fi skirmish, some compare it with Necromunda, I can't comment as I never played that. It is good though! See photos below:
Kings of War: large scale fantasy battles. Like WHFB but streamlined and still very tactical. See photos below again:

Deadzone:

Ah, I was thinking of Dreadzone! Price looks good on it. Tend to prefer skirmish games nowadays; short of Bolt Action and 20mm World War 2, I struggle to get motivated for much else.

Pics aren't showing up mate, seen them on Facebook, though. They look great.

Yeah, I need to get on and finish the rest of those off... and just photo the ones that haven't been photoed yet.

But KoW and Dreadball keep getting in the way!
