Another hair-brained idea of Hitler's, to kidnap Churchill. Were it not for an extra-ordinary piece of syncronicity the plan would have been abandoned.

Spies have forwarded information to German Military Intelligence that the British premier is scheduled to visit a remote airfield in East Anglia. As Churchill is known to travel lightly guarded a plan is hatched to do the deed.

A crack commando unit of Fallschirmjägers is air dropped in the Suffolk countryside and heads for the village of Studley Constable...

..................................................................

Like every Comrades in Arms event this airsoft game has restricted uniform, weapon and ammunition rules - full information can be found in the menu at the top of the page under 'Reference'.

This event is being held on Sunday 2nd March 2008.
Cost is £30, payable in advance.
Players are welcome to camp for Saturday night. There will be a social evening with music and hopefully a war film or two. Bring a couple of beers!

Is is being held at the Gunman site based on the old RAF Tuddenham aerodrome in Suffolk.

Kit requirements:

No British in this game - this is Yanks vs Germans only.

Germans can either be dressed as:
Brits/Poles using British airborne kit (denison/beret/helmet - Belgian denisons are fine)
OR Falshy blue.
OR Falshy blue under denison.
OR Feldgrau (SS or Heer)
OR Gebirgjager
OR any other German kit

Yanks can use any non-camo WW2 US Infantry or Airborne kit

Erm.... can you confirm what the FPS limits are for TEHL please? Are AEGs 330 or 350? Tug's worried that his Thompson might be more than 330, since it was 327 at Wotan with a crummy battery, which he's since upgraded.

Copied from Gunman's web site:
* AEG & Pistol FPS limit is 330 FPS with .2 BB - Strict due to the urban things can get pretty close
* Support Weapons (Mini Mi, MG36, M249 etc) 350 FPS with a .2 bb Engagment distance of 15m and no firing inside the building, into and out of is fine. Side arm to be carried for contact within engagement distance
* AEG Snipers , (modded to Semi only, and lowcaps.) 370fps MAX, min engagement 20m. Side arm to be carried for contact within engagement distance
* Sniper rifles, (single shot bolt action) 370fps - 500fps min engagement 20m. Side arm to be carried for contact within engagement distance

As I understand it the state of the battery won't have any effect on the power of the gun, that's detirmined by things such as the spring and how air-tight the mechanism is, all the battery will do is change the rate of fire.

Duh, will have to fit a smaller spring, all mine are 340fps+

if anyone is intrested I have some PDI 120% springs new for £5 each, these seem to give 310 to 320 fps when fitted in a thompson........

I'll see if we can get a relaxtion on the open day rules given we are moderately sensible peeps on a private day, so don't go breaking open the guns just yet...

Thanks CW - 350 is a very common limit anyway... here's hoping.

OK, here we go on fps:

Bolt action - 500fps max - min. engagement 20m. Side arm to be carried for contact within engagement distance
AEG (whether used on auto or single shot) 370fps max

BUT please bear in mind some in some areas of the site there will be close battles. Users of guns over 330fps are asked to be considerate to their fellow players and be sensible with engagement distances. Do not use them for fighting inside buildings (although firing into and from a building is fine). Please carry a side arm for close engagement. Should there be a complaint from any player the gun and player in question will be immediately withdrawn from the game.

This isn't an invitation to up-spec your gun to gain advantage, just a concession so players don't have to strip guns for the event. 330fps guns are perfectly fine for this type of site and game.

Will they actually be tested on the day as I have no idea what any of my guns are putting out?
I guess my M14 will be about 350 as thats the standard for Chinese ones isn't it? With gas guns it will obviously depend on the weather but I'd voluntarily test mine to be sure I'm using the most suitable gas on the day as I'm not experienced enough to know.

As at any site, expect guns to be tested! There will be a chrono on site...
