Hi Paul, which Parachute Infantry Regiment (PIR) are you depicting, eg 506th? As have seen a lot of A2's with the PIR's badge on the left brest of the jacket, if you check BoB you will see what i mean.
Other than that i think you have everything, as far as i know they didnt have rank on them, but it may have been a personal choice thing.
Cheers Phil

Found this if it helps..I think Officers had there ranks on it on the shoulders...dont think enlisted men had these...but maybe someone can be more specific...
DO a google image search for "Paratrooper A2 jacket"..You'll find something.
I'll have a look at my book in a bit as well
Yep thats exactly what i meant, looks as if that patch is 502nd PIR.
Have seen pics with and without the rank, as said i think it may have been personal choice, am sure one of our more experinced members will put us straight!

The 101st badge is known as the Para-dice or Pair-O-Dice patch.

"The 506th PIR Para-Dice (Pair-O-Dice) Pocket Patch design is attributed to Bill Donnan
and/or Harold Donaghe (both from B Company, 1st BN, 506th PIR), who created it at Camp Toccoa,
GA in the summer of 1942. Joe Witzerman (HQ, 2nd BN, 506th PIR) did the art work. (Joe was
later transferred to a special Army artist unit.) The design consists of a diving eagle in front of a
parachute canopy and a pair of dice, showing a "5" and a "6" and connected with a large black
"0" , signifying the 506 attacking from the sky. The Para-Dice patch was approved on April 20,
1943 and was worn on the left jacket pocket. However, since this was a regimental insignia, it
was not an authorized patch once the 506th PIR was attached to the 101st Airborne Division
at Fort Bragg, NC, on June 1, 1943."

thanks thats what I was looking for
