Hi guys, my first post on here and probably some of you might not like this from an authenticity point of view but others might be interested so thought I would share.
I recently bought an ics m1 garand and its a lovely bit of kit with kit and with great performance but its a shame it’s missing the iconic ping noise, so i set about trying to find a way of recreating it.
I bought a sound recording box from talking products and uploaded a mp3 clip for the famous ping. Originally the idea was to house it in the stock with a light sensor to activate on removing the mag but without boring out more space in the stock this would be difficult and i did want to get too drastic on my new rif.
I found on epic militaria they sell m1 garand sniper stock pouches so i gave that a punt and managed to hide the device in a sniper stock pouch. It is press button activated and i can reach it by pressing the the leather pouch with my little finger so i dont have to change my firing position. I might not keep it on there all the time but just wanted to share it with you for those looking for that ping 🙂

I love the idea of the 'Ping'! Even though I would be roundly cursing it as it gave my situation away as I try to wrestle another mag from the beartrap grip of my ammo belt...
