Re: Truppenfahrrad - Grab yourself a bargain!

Thanks! Actually, i was already contacting my friend in India re ordering the bike you guys got. But then i got the Mister Cycle in a trade. The Indian bike is indeed a great deal because you already have the correct shaped (and spring configuration) seat and more or less the correct looking rear ra...

Re: Truppenfahrrad - Grab yourself a bargain!

Built myself a replica Truppenfahrrad last year using a 1950s Japanese "Mister Cycle" 28" roadster as a base. I obtained the distinctively fahrrad parts from Ebay.de with judicious use of Google Translate: Bosch headlight w large size dynamo, reproduction prestoff rear triangle toolki...

Re: My take on the FG42

Finally took it oout to a game after the looong wait. Needs an upgrade to make it shoot better. Hop adjustment was a little fiddly, But iron sights were dead on the spot. :) Handles great too. Tacticool carry is just so natural with this gun that i can't think of anyway else to carry it. http://i18....

Re: Kar98K Questions

I have all three and used all three extensively: An upgraded Bar98k scratchbuild, a Tanaka Kar98k, and the G&G G980. The upgraded (EdGi barrel, steel internals) Bar98k shoots the most reliably and accurately and has the best consistency but will never look 100% accurate to the real steel. The Ta...

I just lubed the orings and added teflon tape. No leak in 4 years.

Re: PPSh Problems AGAIN

There is indeed a circular metal piece with a threaded hole in the center. I might be in your garden or if you can't find it, i think you can have one easily machined.

Some pics from our recent Battle of Intramuros (Liberation of Manila) Reenactment last Sunday. This was a fund raising event for the benefit of the children of fallen soldiers. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b119/jimmiroquai/8606_10201054498270422_1177344525_n_zps54485925.jpg http://i18.photobuck...

Re: Another G43-alike build

Thanks! Been waiting for someone to build a successful accurate AEG representation but judging from past efforts, it would take skills, funds, and access to parts that i just don't have. So i decided to go the easy way but refine it a little. It didn't turn out too bad and cost very little too.

Re: G980 help

I'm not sure, but i think he filed the exit ports cast into the mag body itself...that or in part 17. In fairness to G&G, after complaining to them through email, they sent me 2 pcs of a newly designed part 17. But since my rifle was already working after whatever my tech did, i never had the ch...

Re: G980 help

Had exactly the same problem. You living in Norway that this issue is not a climate temperature issue like G&G told me thru email but poor QC on their part. My gun tech had to enlarge the gas exit ports on the magazine.

Update: A little more work on the externals. Charging handle from a spare AGM sten shell. Cut down repro g43 front band. "main spring" made of aluminum wire. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b119/jimmiroquai/DSC_0092_zpsd6b895fa.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b119/jimmiroquai/DSC_0...

Another G43-alike build

Hi all. This build was mainly inspired by the new short m14 mags by MAG (60rounds). I was bored and found a very cheap M14 for sale and i thought i'd go ahead and build a G43-alike. At first, i wanted to try to build an accurate replica of the G43, but because i couldn't find anyone that could make ...

Re: My take on the FG42

Thanks! Yes, i agree about the long nozzle. the longer it is, the more dead space. That's why i just opted for enlarging the receiver enough to fit a gearbox right at the feed port, hoping it didn't detract to much from the overall look.
