Re: FJ face painting or camouflaging

Camo cream wasn't really a thing in WW2. As noted above, burnt Cork, boot polish, mud... were sometimes used.

Most frontline soldiers were pretty grubby and/or suntanned anyway.

Re: Operation TONGA Details

It has been years since I've been to Combat South and that google map above seems to take you to a hospital cemetary. Where is the actual site off Mayles Lane? Is it up the dirt track leading off to the northeast to the large wood?

Re: Today I....

Made myself a pair of Russian Lieutenants shoulder boards. 20190124_190917.jpg They started life as my spare pair of infantry shoulderboards, with the addition of some scarlet tape and a couple of small Soviet stars each. 20190124_190929.jpg Maybe I'll actually get to wear them at a game one day!

Re: Campaign Medal

No worries. Sadly I have now hit the 3000 character limit in my signature, so Cassino is the last new ribbon I can add. I'll have to prune my signature a bit. It is 55 games though! Limit increased to 3500 characters esp. for Martin! LOL, thanks Dave. I only do this to collect the medals.

Re: Campaign Medal

That is exactly what I was thinking of doing, maybe chunk them up into groups of ten and host the images of the 'medal bars' externally.

Oh well, a little project for for spring.

Re: Thank You

Yes, a great day out and very enjoyable. I really liked the idea of the linked/rolling missions, I thought they worked very well indeed. Going out on our G J ice pick mission was hilariously disastrous and hopefully a welcome revenge for the long suffering Brits. We didn't see huge numbers of Americ...

Well, I've bought some snow goggles so it had better snow. I've also fixed my MP40, unaided apart from some gentle guidance from Gav. :happyclap:

Re: Basic Safety in WW2 Airsoft Games

I'd strongly recommend going to some open days and trying out regular airsoft so you can get a feel for how it all works and how much protection you feel comfortable with. As Dadio says, decent eye protection is mandatory. I've played games in shorts and even a kilt, but I generally try and play wit...
