Re: 1928 Thompson cocking bolt

A bit more done the blowback mechanism, thought I would bolt it all together so adjustments could be made if necessary. Originally planned to weld it all in one piece. So if this prototype works I will do welded pieces.
Not yet made handling piece, but it all works!

Re: A&K M1 Garand problem

Good pic’s, I seem to remember reading somewhere that the mags for this model were held in by friction, where’s The mag catch? It doesn’t look like you have any worn parts, yet you say the mag is loose when fitted. The mags for most of these guns don’t have to be tight fitting but movement should be...

Re: A&K M1 Garand problem

Most magazines won’t feed if not pushed “home” onto the feed spigot of the hop unit as the little spring holding catch won’t release the pellets, this is why when you push the mag in, it works, when you release your holding push the mag drops, even though it may be ever so slightly the holding catch...

Re: Wanted: custom Johnson M1941 LMG

I did have a look at one of these myself last year, as I quite like the look of the “ old fat belly” did go as far to make measurements, but need to find more photos for detail or look at one in the flesh, so to speak. So I might have a go later, but do have a fair few others to build in the meantim...

Re: booking Info

Money sent Chris, but for some reason I only sent you £34 ( must be too early in the morning!) so I’ll give you the quid at the game, and I must add that you are a nice chap for letting Pete join in!

Re: Weapon for a game

Mp40 all sorted, runs at 330 fps, very good range for a shorty barrel, I might even get my short style k98 finished as well.

Re: Weapon for a game

Had a little problem with mag feed but now sorted, fires good and straight, tightbore fitted too. I do expect a few more teething troubles yet though, trigger works really well......for the moment!

Weapon for a game

Signed on to play at the Tonga game, German side for a change, have got a Mg 42 ready for spare. Then realised I haven’t got any other German weapons up and running, so I thought I’d better try and finish the mp40 I started about 18 months ago. Had a fair bit done already but not fitted the replacem...

Re: 1928 Thompson cocking bolt

Did a bit more today, slotted top of g/box case and same to piston, it looks like this will work, but I’m thinking the thin slide plate won’t stand up to the job for long. I don’t want to take off anymore from the top of the g/box, so as to fit a thicker plate. So I’ll be looking to machine down thi...

Re: Magazines for a marushin m1 carbine

Apparently, the King arms mags are the same as the Marushin mags, but I found this info online and have no real first hand proof that this is so.
