Re: Side feed hop unit

The epoxy I’m using is called K2 metal bond, found it on EBay, now I know you’re not an advocate of EBay but it does turn up with the goods sometimes, in my opinion this stuff is far superior to jbweld, sets quicker, and cuts, drills files and shapes up a lot better. I did reinforce the hop with bin...

Re: Side feed hop unit

On the project gun, it will be running AK mid caps anyway, the hi cap just happened to be with gun at the time of conversion, I thought it might struggle anyway when it gets low, causing misfires, but it misfires and double feeds from about five to ten pellets from the start, strangely enough, it fi...

Re: Side feed hop unit

Well, after another go, it seemed to be the mag, firing the gun on its side, mag proper way up one double shot in about forty, and obviously when spring relaxes, no fire, on its side pellets not under pressure/tension some misfires occurred, found mid cap mag, works much better, doesn’t fit very wel...

Re: Side feed hop unit

Spent a bit of time on this today, got it firing after a little trim off of the nozzle, now I didn’t expect too much from this, which is just as well, but it does fire, getting a few misfires and a few double shots which could be the mag, seeing as it’s a hi-cap working side on, but then the hop its...

Re: M14 to M1 Garand

Took this M14 as is, to a game yesterday, mainly to try distance and accuracy, remembering that the hop unit is “ from the box” as it were, the only work I’ve done is lower FPS. At 339 FPS according to site chrono, it’s bang on accurate at 50 metres with .28’s going through, it will do 70 metres but...

Re: New Brit...HELP

I’ve not been near a gbb sten, would not be my personal choice to have one anyway, but I know you quite like a gas gun, so it’s probably a case of pay your money, take your chances. I don’t take too much notice of reviews that people do either, I’m definitely a hands on type before I make my decisio...

Re: M14 to M1 Garand

It’s easy to get carried away and spend money and time on something, I’ve done it a few times on projects and while I enjoy making these things sometimes I’ve spent way to much in the pursuit of exactness and accuracy, might as well just buy the made item from a shop. I like to do things to a budget...

Re: M14 to M1 Garand

I will probably make front end from steel, possibly Aluminium, the plan is( which may change!) the main outer barrel to be replaced full length in 16mm steel tube, sleeve inside to suit inner barrel, the lower gas tube, could well be done in aluminium and its easier to work with. I don’t have an alu...
