Re: Strapping Guy

The large pack is designed to carry your Greatcoats here this is how, from the internet. We thank the poster of this information. "The Greatcoat was always worn in the Valise (large pack) in Marching Order by Infantry equipped with 1908 or 1914 Pattern equipment. When I was about to go on my fi...

Re: Gaiters or Putties?

Comrades, Have both as part of your scale of Issue, Webbing Gaiters for BD and Puttees when you are in KD, Webbing Gaiters only really control the ends of your trousers they do not keep sand out of your boots. Saying that, Ammo boots and Puttees will have trouble keeping sand out but at least they w...

Re: Fixing water bottles?

Comrade,
It is best to just replace the Bottle if you want to use it to drink from, as soon as a British 08 pattern Water bottle is damaged it will let you down when you really don't want it to.

Re: Poles vs Blanco. FIIIIIIGHT

As there has been no action here for a while and the positions of the two camps and sub heresies are holding a Static Front. I look at it like this… If your Commanding Officer decides the Men under his Command are to have Blancoed equipment as they have the time and the compound is available, they...

Re: Paras - Uniform, Kit and other Particulars

Comrades, British Rain protection is sadly rather poor, the Cape gets your wet legs as the rain runs off as it is short and the Groundsheet is an odd shape to wear, you can improve the latter with a couple of pieces of short boot lace to attach to the punched out eyelets so you can at least do it a ...

Re: Italian Reenactors !?

There are several Camerata, the lesser fascists are a small but largely well equipped Direction of Interest within Reenactment. Over the last few years they have developed and continuously improved, they're a dedicated bunch to the struggle to educate the public. There is a Fascist Black shirt Group...

Re: Desert Rats

It looks better, two belts the same ? Yuk. It is unlikely it will dry out in our use, I have some great pictures of the Italiano also using 37 pattern Belts from Booty Stores of clothing, though I would do it myself as "Pavia" .

Re: Desert Rats

Nice use of a 03 Belt, most use just another 37 pattern belt as a trouser belt which looks lame and shows a lack of understanding of the period.

Re: What to do during the Winter Evenings

Sacking is very useful Comrade, hours of fun and clouds of fluff.

On completion I soak it in very hot water and allow it ti dry on the Helmet so it loses some colour also so it shrinks and stretches in all the right places.

Re: Desert Rats

I worked the same magic on some MK 2 Universal Pouches Comrades, I rather like the effect, Loaded with Two Bren Magazines in one and a Bandoleer of fifty Rounds of .303 Ball in the other with the tools to arm a No 36 Mills Bomb, ( I'm getting some shape into the pouches by keeping them loaded). http...

Re: How to use L straps

That was how I learned to put the rest of it together, just examine everything closely and then experiment I just found putting the large pack together very confusing at the time. Comrade, when I was seven it took me a while to work out the brace ends pass through a tunnel loop under the buckle of ...
