Re: Latest Acquisitions

Silvertone Portable Phonograph, probably from the 1920s or 1930s. They were originally sold through Sears Roebuck and Company. Spent Sunday afternoon cleaning all the gunk out of the single-spring motor. There was graphite grease everywhere! Whoever did the last tune-up/restoration was a firm-believ...

Re: Today I....

Crammed my car full of WW1 gear and drove to work.

Going on to the LPLG-weekend in a few minutes. Will be walking around as a WW1 US Doughboy with a couple of other fellows.

Re: The Kit Pic Thread

Historically; the 3-pocket magazine pouches are an USMC item.
Not sure what that bag is over your jacket. But apart from that it looks like you're on the right track :)

Re: Today I....

I picked up the jeep from the garage. Made a start with preparing the paint for the new markings. Sown the Official Photographer patch on the proper shoulder of my M41 jacket (the right side! not the left) Received my Welta Weltini camera and gave it a clean and replaced some missing screws. Regards...

Re: Latest Acquisitions

The Pershing Boots remind me of Roughouts from SM Wholesale (WPG) but the leather feels slightly thinner to me. I've not worn them for more than a few minutes though and they feel solid enough. I've got an M1917 Uniform from Sanjay, and compared it to an original. The fabric wasn't as tightly woven,...

Recieved a 1944-dated Wool sleeping bag, taxes+administrative fee was as high as the cost of the bag itself,

Re: Latest Acquisitions

1930s Weston mk1 Lightmeter. No idea how it works. Set the value In the little red window (toilet-door-lock looking thing) on the dial to point to the film sensitivity of the film you're using, if it says ASA it is the same as the film's ISO value (i.e. 100 ISO = 100 ASA). If the sensitivity is in ...

Re: Latest Acquisitions

Visited a fleamarket on the monday, only green thing I found was a FAL cleaning kit (without content), which was all rather disappointing. Bought a nice 1950s Agfa Box Camera for a few euro, got a free plastic Kodak point&shot, pieceofsh!t from the 1960s with it. Just so I took something home af...
