Re: Bren and again and again

Last magazine finished , I did forget something though , the carry handle should lock out to the side of the gun for "from the hip" shooting action so I need to fit a little ledge on the side of the gun for it to lock to . still shooting hot so it needs a little spring trim after all .

Re: Airsoft MG34

That's looking really good , the bipod came out very nice indeed . A two person MG team is not just to make it more real life ,it also serves another purpose , MG's tend to be heavy and the crew are at the beck and call of the rest of the squad so your always on the run , switching rolls between gun...

Re: S&S no.4 Lee Enfield rebuild

Yes that was a bit of a fluke, when first fitting the arm thought “ here we go, grief “ but was almost there straight away. Whole thing is nearly done, fires very well. Will try to work out distance overall, but it’s accurate at 25 metres so far. Has developed a tight spot on the pull, after last t...

Re: S&S no.4 Lee Enfield rebuild

The old S+S No4's have a lot going for them , the breech casting is a great part , most people struggle with the joint between the Butt and the rest of the rifle but that casting is very like the genuine part but designed for APS 2 trigger and cylinder set rather than a real bolt and trigger set , i...

Re: Bren and again and again

I find that grinding flat heats and de-tempers the end of the spring enough to bend it flat with pliers if needed , sometimes you have to clip off so much that you go into the wider spaced coils and then you need to flatten it for sure but mostly if you stay in the closer spaced coils they tend to c...

Re: S&S no.4 Lee Enfield rebuild

My own No 4 has an interference fit mag , been using it for some years now and its still just right , I might not do it for a customer build but it works for me ! I had to put a canvas loop on each mag to pull them out though .

Re: Bren and again and again

I've cut coils off many times ,with variable pitch springs I cut the close together coils and grind flat on a bench grinder , as long as there's no sharp end and you put the cut end in the piston then your fine , if you have the cut end of a spring on the sprig guide it can unseat its self and have ...

Re: Airsoft MG34

Nicely done ! Now don't b ashamed if it suffers from the WW2 support weapon curse  nearly half the support weapons that start the day at a WW2 event are dead by lunch time .
Seriously though you've done a very good job on it ,well done .

Re: S&S no.4 Lee Enfield rebuild

What you can do with the mags is profile the edges , the BB channel is in the middle so the two long bottom edges fan be rounded off , I user some walnut laminate on the bottom of the mags on one as well and that helped ease their appearance as well . If you want to get extreme you can lower the top...
