Re: The Sandpit - more pictures

That's a big site! I hope people are bringing vehicles to get about in!

Photos and reports

Just a quick post to thank everyone involved yesterday. As a fan of woodland sites I was quite happy with the location, and we seemed to use quite a lot of the area available. A particular highlight for me was being driven around at what felt like high speed in Claude the truck. Now I understand why...

Re: What do you like in a game?

There was a fair bit of non-combat stiff at Il Gigio which was huge fune - notably cocking about with the field telephones, building my MG 'bunker' and watching the Brits pratting about with our minefield. Maybe I'm just lazy?

Shame - I'd been hoping to get to this. I'll add my voice to the several who'd like to see something a wee bit further north.

Re: Excitement levels

I'm at about 7. Just finished work, batteries on to charge, two boxes of kit ready to go (I find big plastic crates fit in the car nicely and are easier to manage then bags), rifle cleaned and sandwiches in the fridge. I have also decanted some BBs into 600-round bags using my very accurate postal s...

Re: Hurra, die Gams!

I'll bring my Garand and MP-40. Not sure which I'll use yet.

My outfit will basically consist of my LFD kit (splinter jacket etc) but I do have a GJR m43 cap...

Re: Germans - who's coming as what?

I can do either FJ or LFD. Possibly Heer at a push. I'll bring my MP-40 and Garand, together with my £5 plastic Luger which got me a kill at Devil's Hill last year..

Re: Attending WWII airsoft events

I went with the third option, but would describe myself as 'very interested in WW2 airsoft'. Time and distance tend to be the main factors limiting my attendance at games.

Re: Old 'Uns (and others) guide to cheap period looking vehi

Thanks old 'un - a very interesting article. I'd be tempted by one of the more 'modern' options as most games seem to involve me travelling some considerable distance. Anyway - that is all academic at the moment as the domestic authorities feel that 4 vehicles on the drive is at least one too many! ...

Re: It's been...emotional

I was the original MG42 gunner on Anton and fired off a fair bit of ammo there. Other than that I fired about 30 rounds from my M1 late in the game and got at least one kill. Not a bad hit rate!

Re: It's been...emotional

Fantastic day of airsofting and generally cocking about looking photogenic. Well worth the effort, despite the 200 mile journey and resulting expense. Great to see so many people in full WW2 'bling'. Well done to all concerned, especially the original defenders of 'Anton'. We may not have held it fo...
