Re: Insignia chat

I'll be badged with 78th Division and RE AOS strips (no regimental shoulder titles) on my battledress jacket and RE shoulder slips on my KD shirt.

Hurrah for badges.

Cheers

Re: Wot no face mask ! Gum shield to save teeth !

I suppose, it's what risks we are prepared to take, and face the consequences, eg. If a tooth is knocked out and no face mask or gun shield, you can't blame the shooter ! Unless, as Martin said, they have like a cock been behaving - deliberately firing at the head, taking out an overpowered gun and...

Re: How many guns is too many?

Having already got their M1AI I'm after the 1928 EBB too but I think there must have been a limited run on them. Shame.

Re: Calling all world war 2 airsoft enthusiasts in hertfords

Yeah the Herts where a TA unit and its headquarters was based in Hertford but they where attached to the beds regiment. So either Herts and Beds insignia or the Herts insignia can be worn I'm sorry I'm going to be pedantic but I think they are virtually completely separate entities, particularly du...

Re: Join the Poor Bloody Infantry - new allied group.

I'm not quite sure I see the point of forming a group just to say now everyone's in a group and that the only criteria is you have a mk 2. If on the other hand the group has the aim of providing some form of co-ordination to presenting a uniform approach from the whatever contingent which is relevan...

Re: Calling all world war 2 airsoft enthusiasts in hertfords

Is it not either? Weren't Beds and Herts regulars and Herts Territorials? Anyway I've got Herts shoulder titles and cap badge. And more than happy to get Beds and Herts.

Cheers
Charlie

Re: Today I....

You probably know this but there are three buttons on the back of trousers which connect to the blouse. And blouse is the operative word here in that with the trousers pulled up as has been said above the belly button it should blouse out a bit. One of my BDs is WPG and seems fine and I'm 6'3".

Re: SAS impression

Puttees! And I can't believe it, is that another original photo with the holster hanging off the ammo pouch. Don't these old soldiers know that's just a re-enactor thing? I am often surprised at how often you see Special Forces, Commandos etc with very few pouches. What is that waistcoat thing sever...

Is The Mace ribbon hosted onsite? My link is to Yith's and it keeps going down. Unless I delete it all together I can't update my ribbons.

Re: Thanks!

Thanks Josh and all involved. Good fun again, knackering but great. Sorry I couldn't stay for Sunday and it's a shame about the night game. Josh I walked off with your detonator, I hope this didn't mess Sunday up. Presumably you won't need it for The Vikings and I can bring it along to Eversley on 6...

Re: British Infantry at the Longest Day

Well my logic ran that if Brit were going to be close to US troops on D-Day then that would need to be on the very Western flank of Gold Beach and probably 47 RM Commando or I plumped for 61st Reconnaissance Regiment from 50th Division. I shall be bringing my Sten and my Thompson and if both those p...
