Ah I see your dilemma, maybes you could try some body binding http://www.ftmguide.org/binding.html http://www.wikihow.com/Bind-Your-Chest am sure it could be used on a tummy instead of a chest added bonus of being able to feign injury ;)

See how many were actually in a lighter wood? (not really relevant on this post but possibly more likely to be see by Poacher). I've had a few people say the lighter wood was actually on originals (to what extent I don't know though).

Whats the markings under that BUND stamping (ie as in etched in the helmet).

Useless fact or not (depending how you look at it), many WWII Helmets were painted used in civilian service after the war in guises such as the fire service.

Ah well, having seen the SO44 afrika impression at crich I think you need to work now on authentic "make up" to make it look like the dust has been blowing in your faces for days on end :lol:
