Re: Face protection

I always wear a scarf over my mouth. Have a cut down half mask sewn into it. I just cant use gumshields.
Yes, in ww2 events you are far less likely to get hit in the face but accidents, and strays, can happen.

Re: Buying a gun from Gun-Fire.co.uk

I haven't bothered with the ka midcaps.....currently have 4 agm 50 round mags. In ww2 games that'll be around your ammo limit oer life (Veirville was 3 mags). On open days, yep you can be a bit outgunned, but it makes the kill all the sweeter :D . I often do opens with the kar98, and that's 11 round...

Re: PPS kar98 parts ?

Got a quick 30 mins fiddle with her at the weekend. Couldn't see anything wrong....though two mags are currently in transport box up in loft. Put a new rubber in, tried first off with the collared end down towards mag. She fired but with little force. So swapped round and fired ok. Put 10 rounds thr...

Re: November Open Day Meet Up of Awesomeness

Grange in Balsall Common ? They have another site just north of Brum as well....plus Cqb in central Brum....though that may be a little difficult as need to arrive in civvies given location. Haven't checked what they are running on 12th/13th mind.

Re: PPS kar98 parts ?

Ok.....the router was again chewed/fell out at Veirville. Back in April I just pushed the new rubber into place. Should I install it some other way ? Take that end of the bolt off and insert rubber from inside ? A very small drop of glue to hold it ? Or is it just one of those things and you should ...

Re: Amazing thankyou

A big thank you to all in the IB's for a great day. I was part of 3 Batterie, so morning was spent fortifying with an occasional scramble for rifles and kit when activity was heard nearby....always a false alarm.....and unlike the Amerikaners, we waited to see the whites of their eyes before firing ...

Re: Latest 'threat' to airsofting

I go to open days at our local site....knowing there is a sniper or two around does add another element to your approach. Tho a sniper role doesn't float my boat. As you both suggest, fps isn't everything. The problem would be, if this happens, seems to be that anything that could be altered to go o...

Latest 'threat' to airsofting

What are peoples opinions on the proposed removal of the airsoft exemption allowing 1.3j for auto and 2.5j for single shot ? If it goes through the Lords we will be limited to 1j, anything over would be treated as a firearm, so useless for airsoft. http://www.ukapu.org.uk/about/frequently-asked-ques...

Re: agm mp40 trigger block/switch

Think it's sorted for final attempt tonight. Hadn't occurred to me that the cylinder head could have moved in the cylinder - probably when cleaning the crud out. So the cylinder was that bit too far back and fouling the sector gear. Will have to reshim as had moved bushings around to see if that mad...

Re: agm mp40 trigger block/switch

Think I'd go for some sort of insertion. Not out of the woods but have found one problem...new switch block was just a little too wide, so shell was never going to close snugly. Bit o jiggering got the contacts from new into old block. So if you need to replace your switch and want a straight swap a...

Re: agm mp40 trigger block/switch

I really need to increase my German sweaty vocab! Will be on attempt #6 at putting the gearbox back together tonight. How do you keep everything in place while closing the shells ? Anti reversal latch seems to be the usual suspect for popping at the last second. Also tappet plate is vexing me somewh...
