one of the biggest parts for me, is the oft quoted " in the zone"... i cant really get in the zone without a bit of uniformity. immersion is the thing. and that spell is broken for me by someone dressed like albert steptoe toteing a L96. for me , thats just not WW2. sorry.

any non- combat /military issue helmets, i.e. those for home front civilian authority use ( with the exception of the police and fire brigade etc) we stamped with three holes in a triangle near the chin strap bales to designate non manganese steel construction. its possible... but unlikely.

there were more than that at elsecar antiques and collectors fair if you looked hard ranj...... at least one other 1939 dated shell.i ran out of cash and there was no ATM machine or i would have had it. also a mint un-issued MK7 ressi case for £20. i will be going again . :good: plus, that service ...

re read mine,,,, i didnt say you did say that. no one did. ranj gave me a paint code, i rang 3 places that mix paint. B+Q are the cheapest, but cant do BS codes. the other places want over £20 for a litre. not paying it. yorkshireman. :rofl:

B+Q cant do that colour.... and everywhere else wants just over £20 for a litre. that added to the £9.50 i paid for the shell means its more expensive than buying the painted one the guy had on his stall :slap:
