Us lot in SAD will probably aim to run a second game later in the year; no concrete plans as yet though.

Planning Rebound is taking up most of the time at the moment!

I wish this didn't clash with a re-enactment event otherwise I'd go.
Looking forward to the future one ;)

New to the ww2 events so its a shame the games are drying up as there seems to be a genuine rise in interest as the general airsoft brigade begins to see the light lol

Agreed, we need more games. It’s disappointing.

What we really need is more people to take the plunge and either organise or offer to help organise a game. I am sure that there are people out there who would all pitch in to offer their services in getting a game off the ground with Props advice etc. I started many years ago on my own £20 a head simple WW2 game. I looked to other games and got advice from other organisers on how to set them up and it has grown from there. The hardest thing is to get a site for a reasonable price.

Chicken and egg really No games = No players which = No games :(

I am not critising as such, but there is a trend to have themed,or time period specific games,so specific uniform is needed, like there is a proposed Russian Front game ,thats great but nobody has Soviet gear on the whole so it limits your player base, which is not great when many games organised sometimes get cancelled due to lack of players.

Most games that have been put on over the years have been pretty Open as far as uniforms etc are concerned. All our events have a lend kit section and most people can get the basic kit required to attend an event. Our rifles game is only asking you to have a Bolt action rifle and a Tin hat, which we could possibly source for you. We would rather have people attend with not 100% kit than rather not come and the event get cancelled.

Proposed Russian Game?? Not heard that and agree not many people have Ruskie kit so it does limit it a bit unless organizers can lend stuff out like Gunman does.

I think over the years some people need to get to an event and worry about the kit later not much point having re enactor kit and no event?

As I said Chicken and egg.

Ooh, Russian Front? When, where?

There are actually players with tons of Russian kit as over the years we've run many Eastern front games, and it has occasionally been pressed into service for both Pacific and Indochina. Ahem. As Gordon says, stuff is available to lend.

I don't know if Josh is planning another WW2 game. I guess not.

There has long been a myth that this community forum is full of stitch counters who don't allow players to book on if their kit isn't exactly right. This simply isn't true; its always been more about the mindset and willingness to engage with the game rather than organisers worrying what version of trousers someone is wearing!

Its true that some standards of kit are exceptional, and accordingly these are the folks who tend to get photographed at the events, but they are by no means the rule. For every player with immaculate kit, there is someone else just starting out and who only has the basics or 'look a like' kit.

Occasionally, games will restrict unit types (i.e. no Brit Paras, nos Fallschys or SS), but in that case all that is usually needed is a different hat or helmet and all is sorted. :D

I'd urge anyone who would like to run an event to look to give it a go; see the basics that was posted here a few years ago (12 years! Blimey :? ) ; other organisers will help if they can (only need to ask) and lend kit, props etc.

For me, running events with like minded people has been one of the real joys of being part of this community over the last decade :good:

Will do on the support - but next game my kar98 fires at 420 so not suitable and only got FJ stuff - not a moan by the way

I am sure there will be other games so here’s hoping
