I can see the bottom of some leaves there?!

Besides which, leaves wouldnt naturally occur upside down would they? The whole photosynthesis thing would mean the chlorophil loaded sides would point up?

I think there is something to do with 'leaf pores' on the underside of leaves that means they get too much water in them if upside down? Though as you can tell by my use of the phrase 'leaf pores' it has been a long time since my biology lessons... :?

Looking good Rich :good:

Now for a few questions, first @ Rich, I think somewhere you said you'd used some repro early war blanco to do some of your webbing, if that's right where did you get it from and how good is it? as I'd like to do a set of early war webbing myself.

Next some general questions, it's been said that the South Staff's were part of the BEF so that's what I intend to portray, what I'd like to know is would the cap badge I've got on my beret be the same as the one they'd have worn on the FS caps at that time and did they wear any sort of insignia? for example in the Osprey British Army book there's a picture of a private in the Royal West Kent Regiment as part of the BEF wearing an inverted black triangle, I've also seen other pictures of different regiments wearing similar insignia.

I made it myself. I was told in some part how to do this by another re-enactor who wants to keep it secret. I hence won't be posting it up for all to see. You have a pm.

Yes, the same cap badge I have pre-war pictures with that one on. For the other insignia, I'm not at all sure. I'd leave it blank unless you can find a definite reference to what they wear. Abroad the BEF didn't generally have much insignia.

Horus is putting together a 'sapper' kit, and i am currently prodding him to get some. I'll let you know how it works out.

Where would one get some period ones by the way?

So they do.. I'd not checked I'd just remembered they had 'em. fecking expensive as usual too.

There are some on ebay here, including one with a 1940 date and another without the date, but the same style, which looks like it will be quite cheap in comparison. Not much webbing though!
