Car or van sharing

Postby Zero Bravo » Tue Feb 17, 2009 12:44 am

I'd really like to go to this game, but I'm worried my old jalopy wont make a treck into such a foriegn county and back again in one piece. Are there any members "Down South" that want to organise a car share, or if there's enough of us, would it be financially viable to hire a van? Why take half a dozen cars all that way when a minibus and trailer would save a few quid?

Although I'm "dahn sarf", I'm about 90 miles away from you, Jimbo. I will try and persuade Tug to come - he lives 5 mins away from me. I don't know how fit Neill Blume's knee will be by then - I saw him on Sunday, and he still has to wear a brace for some time yet. However, he is in Bognor - a bit closer to you.

Anybody able to take 2 from portsmouth/Southampton Area?

Possibly from Southampton...

Still trying to work out what I'm doing. If possible, I want to go early Saturday morning - would rather not spend 2 nights away if I can avoid it.

Oddball how will this help people? There are now TWO entrances - so which one is the official one to be used for the game weekend and the camping area?

Here is the map of the campsite
http://www.multimap.com/embed/?lat=53.1 ... ueCKD4fWxM the postcode is CH7 4DY and for those that played Husky last year remember its not far from the other side of the site, when you were fighting the high point you could actually see the farm from there :) I need nice Mr Chommers to delete the old directions so I can sort this out :)

You can change what you like in this section of the forum Taffy. BTW, Oddball's location map is correct.

So just to clarify, cos to quote Clint from Where Eagles Dare "I'm as confused as I ever want to be!", are we using a different entrance and campsite from Huskey?

Yes Jon its the other side of the site but signs will be out directing you to the campsite CH7 4DY it is only a short way from Husky's entrance so not a problem. Directions are the same until the last half mile and signs will be out for you :)

This is why I posted that link as I had a feeling many of the Husky vets would go to the wrong gate

Taffy maybe you should change the link in the directions thread
http://www.multimap.com/maps/#map=53.14 ... undefined|
I presume the one I have shown to the gate is the entrance we are using because when I went there with you before Husky you showed me this entrance and field and said this is where people normally camp for games.

I could not add my link as the thread is locked and not everyone will look in a car sharing thread if you see what I mean.
