so far my issued st-ppsh drum and an altered hp--ppsh drum both feed fine in my toy.

The mags fall out easy if someone holds the wood stock just behind the drum mag, they push on the mag release which drops your mag on the concrete floor and the shock jumps the spring out of its fixing.

That is probably why the ares is more expensive. Little things like that. There are no problems with the mag catch on the ares. BTW, How wobbly is the mag on the ST?

Not that bad but a stronger spring would help, but once you know it isn't a problem. If you fit the aries stick it isn't a problem at all. All guns have slight problems, the lad with the aries above had a problem that his gears chewed to bits in 2 weeks  but I think that was because he was using 9.6v and blow back all the time.
Once you know how to hold it no problems.

My piston on my TM Thompson stripped inside of 30min at a game last Nov due to piss poor BB's the site owner gave me. It also took the teeth off my sector gear, are you sure the ammo you were using was ok

definitely, I only use quality controlled pellets above 0.2 gram. ARES even changed the recommended battery to 8.4 in the manual!

Ah that sounds like a good idea as I thought 8.4 seemed about right on the ST with all that blow back stuff I would not over run it. :good:

Stick mags for these have just been released on wgc at £20 inc postage, cheaper than the ares ones that are hard to get hold of and at 540 rounds easier for the general 600 round limit than the drum mags, ordered mine so ill let you know about the quality, feeding etc

Quick review on the stick mag,
- the bb port is a little small spring loaded catch which isnt the easiest to fill but is good enough
- quite a hefty thing which for me is a good thing
- quite stiff to get in and out of the magwell but im sure will ease in time
- feeds flawlessly so far, no misfires
- on a full wind it only does out 150ish rounds so alot of winding
- looks good on the gun, and sets it apart from other ppsh and makes sure unknowledgables thinking its a 'tommy gun'
