Seriously, you should only carry what you need. You certainly won't need two guns. There are photos of Jeds with carbines, but within the context of airsoft and with MEDs in play, you won't need it.

Also, I'll be asking for all slings to be removed from weapons. An essential piece of info that Pete gave us. A sling will encourage you to sling your weapon...it should be in your hands at all time.

You have it right next to you, against a tree, on the floor. But while we're moving, it's in your hands.

"This is my rifle. There are many others like it, but this one is mine...etc."

Fair play.

My personal choice would be to have the sling for use when needing to carry out a 2-handed operation. Go by the rule that you should never be more than 3 feet from your gun at any one time.

For crawling through undergrowth, it is definitely better to remove the sling. Also, the immediacy of having the weapon in your hands at all times does sharpen the senses, I found.

Is the undergrowth all brambles?

From what I remember, there were very few brambles and nettles on this site. However, that was a few years ago.

Now that's out of the way....harden the feck up. ;)

Up to you Josh. We will have maps to give out but, it doesn't do any harm to do some map studies of your own. Might also be handy to study aerial pictures on google earth, etc.

In the SAS camp, I'll be doing it all by the book, with full orders, terrain model and all the rest of it.

Why's that Scott? Do you have a battery sling? If so, noone expects you to do a last minute re-wire.
