Zb26/zb30

Postby Granger » Sat Nov 29, 2014 8:26 pm

Looking for a Zb26 or zb30, any make really as long as it's not ACM.

I'm intending to convert one into a Bren so would be grateful for any reply.
Regards,

Ralph

There's a Matrix version. Thats an Evike rebranded version, so may be the same as ACM.

Thanks Russe11. I'm not sure on acm guns as I've heard some bad things about them. Are they really as bad as people think?

Ralph

I've seen two types of zib and they were both OK ,if you are going to convert it I don't think that you should find anything more difficult in trouble shooting ACM internal's ,for the most part the Chinese gearboxes need re shimming and downgrading the spring ,compared to converting it to a bren it should be easy .

Yeah it's the converting that's the harder part. It won't look as good as your bren build I'm sure but as long as I can get the barrel and stock sorted I'm half way there. The magazine is a different story however...

i did a zib look alike barrel conversion for mine , the main issue is the part under the barrel ,it's quite different ,maybe you could slide something over the tube section to make it look more bren like , even the bren barrel is fairly complicated and is many different diameter's and has the gas block on it as well .

Unfortunately I'm not employed as an engineer anymore so I'll have limited tools to work with which means I won't be able to make an exact replica.

When my Zb26 arrives I'll be able to plan my build properly, as for now it's just preliminary planning.

Ralph
