I am still most upset at having missed this but am finding solace in this:

Sorry to have missed you Scott, sorry to have missed everyone.

This almost deserves one of those laughing emoticon things - I can almost hear the conversation. I hope you told him to be quiet and to concentrate on planning the next one!

I have a small skewer hidden in the collar of my jumping jacket, and a razorblade in my gaiter, as well as my knife.

Dammit I typed out a post and it dissapeared. Never mind. Well done, Craig, an excellent day, and thanks to our CO, even thiugh we did think you were a spy for a while, at least until you got out your bottle of Maple syrup. Then we knew you were a Canadian. Rifles games really are an inspired idea and these games do raise the bar for effort made by the players . Well done all. I particularly enjoyed eavesdropping on the partisans hatching their plot to shoot the axis commaner in his "feathery head" hen he came for his Royalist spy, I really had to stifle a laugh :giggle: and I still don't know if they made it up for our benefit because they knew we were there.

Moss, no problem, you can borrow it next time.

Dan, I have your stilton. It is very tasty. I think Craig has some other bits.

Thank you all for the kind words, and thank every one of you for you excellent game-play, attitude and sense of humour that made the weekend a delight.

I look forward to seeing you all next year.

Oooh yes, we like snaps. When i got to the game I discovered my camera battery was flat, so I didn't take any photos at all.

Cheers

Those photos are great! :good: Where did you get them printed? Did you ask them to push grain or is that just how they came?

That's just how they come. I asked for a photo CD with them and these are the not particularly high res scans they did (with some cropping). I think the uncoated lens makes a different. For some reason, scanning the negs, while higher resolution, never looks as good.

Edit : Oh yes, it was Max Spielman's 1hr service. Boots's machine was broken. Or rather the only person who knew how to tell if it was broken or not, was at lunch.
