skinny? That's the wrong side of normal. ;)

our resident skinny guy is the one fellow wearing BD on the weekend from my list. Do you have a pair of trouser suspenders? they can cover a world of sin.

Just buy a slouch hat and go as australian!

but there's no Australian this time...forget the previous comment :slap:

Really? I start a new job soon so there is a slim chance I could make it!
Also British Service dress varies significantly from Australian and short puttees, 3 button anklets or loose trouser legs would be more correct. With a bit of work British SD could become Belgian.

I was pulling legs really, specially as this is a pukka uniform game! Belgian is a good idea, yet like your said, quite a bit of sowing work to be done, with pockets and collars, would be a very interesting addition to the game though.

I believe that the Belgian service dress is just a British jacket with a red collar. Sew a bit of red felt over the collar. Not sure about the rest of the Belgian gear though. Bring enough beer and chocolate and I'm sure no-one will question it too hard

It's true, it would be interesting for me to play as a Belgian, but I'd probably have to get a lot of stuff to make a good impression of one. I do have a pair of braces that should work fine with BD.

I've got the start of a Chasseurs Ardennes impression based on a SD tunic. Definitely a decent match.

If you ever decided to go down that route (everyone's queing up to do a Belgian impression!) the leather leggings are an absolute ball ache to cobble together.

I thought I'd just leave this here, it's more or less a generic outline of a Belgian soldier of the early war period.

Picture credits to whoever they are due.

who was that supplier which recently was posted for discount jackboots? They had black leather leggings if I remember correctly.

Varusteleka.fi
I posted the jack boots, I look on their site quite often and I believe the black leather leggings you're referring to aren't too expensive either.

Word of warning on these, they're rather small, I got some with a view to use them as SNLF leather leggings. Ordered the largest they had and didn't come close to my 39cm calfs, if you're planning on carving them up though they might just do the job.
I've fired a bullet on every continent. Nearly hit someone, too.

Ah, that's a shame.

The Belgian leggings seem like they'd be easy enough to make from some leather.

Drove me to drink when I tried to make them, then again I'm not exactly proficient in tailoring. :)
