New from Coventry area!

Postby Kathleen27 » Sat Feb 25, 2017 11:44 am

Hi all!

I'm was originally looking at joining a ww2 German reenactment group but was told I can't because I'm a woman (which is understandable).

So instead I'm looking at joining an WW2 themed airsoft group (which seems more fun in the first place) I'm based in the Warwickshire but I am happy to travel.

Any idea where I should start?
Is there groups that meet up or is it just event based?
Any advice or information would be awesome!

Pleasure to meet you all,

Kathleen

Hi there
Your in the appropriate place to start,
If you keep an eye on this forum you will find plenty of information about kit & what games are coming up & where.
If you fancy going to any games then you just need to book on & you can always ask if you need to borrow some kit as everyone on here will be happy to help anyone with kit.
Unfortunately I am your enemy as I only do U S loadouts any because I don't speak German & I think all Russian woman are ugly so I don't do Russian & don't even talk about the Japanese.
Good luck with everything & hopefully we will see you at a game soon.
See ya
Peter

Willkommen!

I'm in Redditch, my local is The Grange in Balsall Common. Normally play there 1st Saturday of the month (u18s & beginners friendly). I'm the only one sane enough there to do Ww2 German regularly, though one of the Marshalls has a good setup too. There are a couple of others getting kit together for US or Tommy too.
Fireball Squadron may be a good place, home of the 34th, even if they are Amerikan :)

A fair few of us at Fireball Sqn (Bassets Pole) do WW2 US, but also German and Japanese and even the odd Brit. We do more modern games too.

We run 'walk on' airsoft games on the first Saturday of the month and regularly see players in all sorts of kit, so if you fancy coming along, you would be very welcome.

Welcome to the forum. I am playing mostly German, so if you need any help just ask. The kit guides on this website are very good. Come to a game and have some fun. Lots of people are happy to help with kit.

Hello & welcome! As the others have said; check out the kit guides to start you off - best to go generic Heer and get the basics down first - you can then be more 'fancy' bits of kit as and when you need/want them!

Hello and welcome,

the closest thing we have to a "group" is Die Alte Hasen, but that is basically just a bunch of us who turn up at games in German kit and vaguely attempt to coordinate what we are wearing. It is pretty much just turn up on the day generally.

Have a look at the kit guides, but you don't need to buy a ton of stuff as people are often willing to lend gear out. If completely new to Airsoft I'd find a local site and try it out to get a feel for how the guns work etc.

If you want a women friendly reenactment group, try The Northern WW2 Association, lots of women in all the units, including German (although they tend to be non combatants, Flak Helferin, nurses etc).

Hopefully see you at a game soon.

Cheers

Hi everyone!

Thank you for such a warm welcome to the group!
I've never played airsoft before but I'm going to check out The Grange and Fireball nearby.
Since I've never been hit by an airsoft gun before it might be best to borrow some kit for I get stuck in.

Does anyone go to either place (or somewhere local) who could show me the ropes so I'm not totally on my own on the day :)

Might be going to the Grange this Saturday....waiting for my son to decide whether he wants pewpew or pingpong. :D
Note that Grange cost for the day including rifle & kit is £47. BBs are around £10 for 3000 (might be 5000)

Hello,

Fireball has a walk on day this coming Saturday.
You would be more than welcome to join the fun. We have a new players brief at the start of the day to enlighten the new folks in the nuances of the game. If you decide to come along I would introduce you to the reprobates..... er ...... rest of the team and regulars.

We are a team of airsofters that run a site, all volunteers; so it is a very friendly atmosphere.

The game fee is £25 - I will sort out a rifle and ammo for you included in this price. Just let me know so that I remember to take the gun for you.

All you need to do, is turn up ready to play.

I would say though, that although walk on games are good fun, they do differ from WW2 games a lot. But to get a general idea and to see if being shot at is your cup of tea, then it would be a good start.

On the subject of guns, the whole VCRA thing kicks in. But once you have played three games at one site you should be good to start buying some nice WW2 weapons.

Hi there again
If you go to a game & decide that you like getting sprayed with bb's or spraying others then that's the first step on the ladder.
The biggest thing is the law on buying weapons (vcra) without a valued form of defence it is illegal to sale or buy an airsoft weapon but it's not illegal to own one (sounds a little silly but it works this way)
On the other hand it's not illegal to be given a weapon as a present again sounds silly but it works.
Well as you can see by all the replies you are getting there's plenty of people on here willing to give you some free advice & even lend out kit & weapons that's without even seeing if your fit or not. :D :D
No forget that last comment I'm just playing with you but there are some ugly players on this forum.
Oh yes most of them are German players are you sure you don't want to try an Allied loadout as we are better looking.
See ya on my e

Hi I haven't posed in a while, finding it tricky to get to a place near Nuneaton which is where I now live.
That sounds like a really good idea though :)
