Weapons Loan Appeal.

Postby Gadge » Mon Jan 25, 2010 2:20 pm

Hi Guys

We've been lucky enough to have some Danish comrades sign up for Freshman (a group of keen event organisers themselves who'd like to see how we do it in the UK and play a bit too!) this Feb.

The only small issue is that while they can get their aegs into the UK they are being charged a silly fee to do so (almost to the point where it would be cheaper to buy new guns here), so i was wondering if any kind souls can loan a weapon for the event.

So luckily two of them are playing as civilian staff and only require pistols at most but one of the chaps is playing a Royal Engineer and so requires an SMG of some sort.

If anyone can lend a Sten/mp40/thompson they are able to bring their own batteries and magazines with them.

Normally we on the PBI team would be able to loan some out but regrettably as we've a sizable contingent from the re-enactment community coming they've all been allocated.

So can any one help?

We can bring an MP40.

Our chinese thompson is under 350 but over UCAP's 330 limit so probably no good.

I have a tm 1911 + 3 mags, unfortunately that is all I can offer as my thompson is over the site limits, and my mp40's gearbox is kaput. :(

Hmm... I'm surprised about it being as low as 330. Could have sworn it used to be 350, because at the Wotan and Glocke games loads of Allies were using Chinese Thompsons. :?

Actually, I recall some with Chinese Thompsons being told their guns were too hot. Definitely a 330fps limit.

Yep, i borrowed Steve's, i believe, after mine was running at about 340 or so.

And just to confirm, *all* guns will be chrono'ed, and anything over 330fps on .2g won't be allowed on, so if you're not sure, bring a spare for yourself.

I had to downgrade at least 2 Chinese Thompsons at Glocke

In that case, I guess we'd all better bring as many guns as we can, to cover ourselves.
