Yep, pretty sure. The pictures tend to get dismissed as HEER troops wearing SS camo smocks. Can't bl##dy find them on the web. Will try the books. Might take a few days as I have moved house.
Let's be clear thoguh, a picture proves it happened at the moment that picture was taken and not much more... if we are going to get picky about the research that is.
I'll be back!

Well, I found this interesting thread about SS/Heer camo crossover combinations:

http://onesixthnet.yuku.com/reply/13015 ... AiFXvldV8E

some of the those nasty Dirlewanger chappies seem to be wearing Heer caps with SS gear, but I'm not sure they are a unit I'd particularly want to portray!

Cheers

I've found several pictures so far, but officers don't count as they wore all sorts of funny stuff. Dirlewanger took on a lot of HEER troops to make up numbers, so they don't count either.
4th SS Poleizi wore similar litzen to HEER early war, so early war pictures are not reliable (they change about 1941 I think, lost the reference again).
Going to have to dig through the books and find the reference. I'm hoping it's not a cock up and confusion over 4th SS and late war absorption of HEER units... or I'll look a twot and worse than that Steiner will lord it over me!

Interesting too see the crossover of camo types though. Must admit its one of my pet hates on airsofters, but just goes to show how wrong you can be when it did actually occur :slap:
Rene "Are you one?"
Gruber "Vell, it vas very lonely on ze Russian Front."

But on a serious note...

The only sort of "crossovers" I can think of would be late war Luftwaffe FD who wore Fliegerblusen with Heer Litzen, and Herman Göring division wearing SS camo.

I love the "Standartenfuhrer in the center in what appears to be a double-breasted overcoat made from splinter camo material" that is so cool :good: I want one :giggle:

Yes on my next trip home to see the Führer I shall call in :giggle: On one of the other threads someone commented "you gerries are so vain in what you wear", but we are just reflecting what happened in real life

Not true, unless you want to look farb, The best rule to stick to is to not to look out of place. A Waffen-SS soldier would not wear a Heer tunic with Litzen and Breast Eagle, there always exceptional circumstances however.
