AT LAST! Thanks to JD7, we now have real steel barrel change doors fitted to the 42's! Couldn't resist putting up a couple of photos of the finished gun. It's been a long and sometimes difficult journey to complete these guns but it was absolutely worth it. For less than the price of one Ultima MG42, we've now got two fully functional, reliable aeg support guns that are, as near as dammit, completely accurate to what an MG42 should look like, including their weight!

I'm sure there will be a MG-42 Training Session/Demo at the training day - each of them have certain custom features, since they are not mass produced.

“I wanted to come to the Volga at a specific location at a specific city. By chance it carries the name of Stalin himself. So don’t think I marched there for this reason – it could carry another name – but because there is a very important goal... this goal I wanted to take – and you know – we are very modest, we have it already."
Adolf Hitler, November 1942

"Comrades, Red Army men, commanders and political workers, men and women guerrillas! It is on your perseverance, staunchness, fighting skill and readiness to discharge your duty to the country that the defeat of the German-fascist army and the liberation of the Soviet land from the Hitlerite invaders depend! We can and must clear the Soviet land of Hitlerite vermin."

I'm still not 100% fit following my back injury (in fact, I'm on light duties at work for the forseeable future), so I'm more than happy to show someone responsible how my MG42 works at the KG SS training day, so it can be used to its' full potential in December. Last thing I want to do is take it and not use it, like I did at Husky.

Thanks for the compliment. I'll try to get a quick video clip made at the December game.

Nice work. That looks like a Zib barrel shroud, receiver and barrel change door?

So I see! The ones I made for me and Del took a lot of work but, very satisfying in the end. Be sure to update this as you progress. :good:

Hello Heide, awsome mg42's you've constructed there :)
I'm thinking about doing a similar project with one of those mg42's from zib, since i dont think the mg42 from agm and the mg34 from viva newer hits the street.
But how many money have you spent on the whole thing ? (for one mg) and all the stuff you've customized later on ?
And wich parts have you changed to real steel parts on the mg?

And is the mg from zib even worth a project of that scale ?

If you have any guides or things i shouldt notice or somthing, please leave a note for me :)

Thx from Denmark - Tom skals
