An MP40 is a good choice, I've had mine for 5 or 6 years and apart from replacing a broken stock it's been fine. The performance is fine out of the box for WW2 games which aren't as "shooty" as modern open games, so it should serve you well :good:

Bergmutze or standard M43 field cap?

One is pretty unique to the Gebirgs so would look out of place with an STG44 :P

£250 will not get you that far in terms of a gun, uniform and equipment. I would suggest mid war impression as this can be both used for early and late. The uniform is a lot more expensive than American and the equipment due to being made from mostly leather and wool. Here are a list of sites that I suggest:

Just remember you don't need it all for your first game as German ,£250 is boots ,trousers ,tunic ,helmet ,Y straps and maybe a bread bag too ,from there just borrow the rest , then people are always selling kit so just keep an eye out ,most kit looks better weathered a little .

The mountain troops used the G33/40 and MG34/42.
I have found one image of a jaeger whose division I can't make out but the rest are all Skijagers who where equipped with the STG. But again, that's from the research I carried out.
Unless anyone has further knowledge and can correct me?
