Kar98k pouches?

Postby Dave1 » Wed May 03, 2017 5:41 pm

Hi folks,

I've got a PPS KAR98k which is a lovely rifle. I've just got a my German Heer ww2 uniform and kit.

I have an issue. My pps KAR98k magazines do not fit in the ww2 KAR98k pouches that came with my webbing. So what has everybody else been doing to carry there Kar98k magazines? Have you been buying pouches especially made from somewhere or have you been adapting yours?

There is a way to adapt them; requires you to cut the dividers out & cut a slit in the bottom of the pouch for the magazine 'lip' to slot into.

If you do a search on the forum, you should find it (will have a look myself when I'm back in front of a PC).

Just a word of warning; it can be really tricky to slice through the leather so be careful! I used a dremmel :good:

Alternatively you can use G43 pouches. I'd go for the method outlined above though, I've got a set converted to store two magazines horizontally and it's a pain to get them out.

As above, you need to cut out the stitching for the internal dividers to make room. Or you could just put them in a box in your pocket, German tunic pockets are large and considered to be part of the load bearing equipment.
