I put three up his gas can (Guy's that is)!

Thanks for a great weekend everybody. I had a really good time, the first day felt very Sicily to me staggering up the hill in the heat!

My best moments had to be the pistol game and the closing moments of the second day.

My worst must have been the third attempt at 'The Rock' (or Montecassino as it appeared to be impregnable). It seemed impossible. Luckily we used our secret weapon - we bored them into a stupor and then nicked the objective! Hurrah for British ingenuity and pluck. Er etc.

See as many of you as possible at In the Pocket hopefully!

In my opinion one of the best CiA games I've been to so far, despite the rain thoroughly enjoyed the whole weekend. Best part being the 2nd day, holding the hedgerow left of the Bridge for quite a while. Oh and the theatrics when Headshot got shot in the middle of the field and I sprinted out in to the field to save him. Dragged him in to the trees just in time to be shot in the arse for my troubles, at which point I subsequently went down and Ste pulled me the rest of the way.
I hope someone got that on camera haha
Come on! Own up, who shot me in the arse! I'll narrow it down, it was DEFINITELY a sniper rifle lol ouch.

You're just lucky I didn't swap cars with her and she offered me a ride in her Austin Martin DB9
Never the less, great fun driving there and back.

Now i'm finally back in civilisation (i.e. South of the M4) I'll add my thanks to one and all for a cracking weekend. Good to catch up with old friends, and great to talk to some of the fresh meat, er, new players

Wasted a good few yanks before the microswitch went on the 42's trigger (well, it was going to happen sooner or later. 400 round bursts didnt help it, i'm sure!) completely FUBAR'd my ankle (it's now twice the size it should be, so down the Doc's tomorrow, methinks), shot the crap out of Gadge, Rich and a few other Brits from the top of Etna in the afternoon, got well trashed two nights in a row. Pretty much a perfect weekend from my POV.

**edit**

Bizarre moment when heading towards the B&B after the game yesterday. Deuce and a half, and two loaded up Jeeps with guys in full US kit pulled out on the road we were heading up. Pity we couldnt have dragged em a bit further East lol

It was one of the best weekends I have had in a very long time. It was fabulous to meet every one and I look forward to the next game. So nice to put names to faces and BigUK, Doug and Paul, remember we need to meet up soon and sort out he Herts battlegroup. I might even be persuaded to go Yank. As a newby to the WW2 scene, I felt included and you can't say more than that. so brusied, blistered and bloody bugger, I salute you all. P

And a big shout out to the Essex massive :good: :D

I wouldnt have given you a lift Pat, if I'd known you were potential turncoat to the Yanks. Yeh, must do the Herts BattleGroup (although the Home Counties Battle group has a ring to it and we might get a couple more in...)

Thanks to everyone for a great weekend everyone and top marks to all the CIA organiser Peeps and Taffy for a well run show. :good:

Another cracking CiA event and surprise surprise I actually managed to drink at this one without chucking or feeling completely useless the next day!

I just want to say thanks to Guy, Steve, David and Jay for organising it all, Taffy for providing the site and a big thanks to Helga for doing the cooking - to say this was one of the most civilised airsoft events I've ever been to is an understatement (we even had toilets, not that they were used, but they were there!).

Right now, I'm chilled out, waiting for various things to dry out before packing them away in eager anticipation of the next event.

I'll post the photo's I've got up once I've managed to fix my computer.

Well, I got home yesterday, posted a few pics and then had a nice trip to A&E to have an x-ray on my back! Happy to say, no serious damage, just a lot of bruising. That'll teach me to land on my arse on the most pointy rock in all of Wales! And, to cap it all, I've just worked a 12 hour shift at work!

Apart from that, what a great weekend! Fair play on all sides, great "social gatherings", a brilliant site which was well organised and one of the most welcoming I've ever been to.

The standard of kit just gets better every time we all get together. I only played on the saturday and got some excellent kills with my K98 and Luger, getting the first kill of the event (apologies to everyone I shot in "delicate" places), so the MG42 never got its' first run (sorry Guy, I know you were hoping for some more firepower!), but it was a great day with brilliant weather and hard, fair play by all. Good to see new faces, along with the usual suspects around the fire and steadily growing pile of empties as well.

Roll on the next event! :good:

Spiers check out the previous pages of this thread -
viewtopic.php?f=84&t=5238
- the video of your rescue bid has already been posted up by Sgt Heide and does make very entertaining viewing.

Also, I think Lardass might have claimed that shot already.

EDITED to add link to thread.

Just to add to all the positives, thanks to the High Command for the event...Steve,Dave,Guy and Jay.
All the usual suspects and the new recruits to WW2 air-soft.
Thanks for the entertainment division of the South Stafford's and the Glider routine.
Although i only had a couple of hours in the thick of it due to my on going leg injury  i had some kills with the K98 (Nick  :good:  ) and blooded my new Luger.
One highlight was the lift back with the HG lads with the M/cycle combo and the 181, we didn't see many civvies but the look on the faces of the ones we did see was hilarious
Helga... :good: for the grub.
Taffy :good: and the team. :good:
