bar belt - ics m1 mags?

Postby paule » Sat Feb 04, 2017 8:23 am

Does anyone know if the ICS M1 mags fit into the BAR belt mag holders?

I currently use a bandoleer when I'm not airborne but we all know how tight the mags are in that (really not good in a high pressure fire fight!)

With ease mate. I used to use a bar belt for mine, id usualy put two mags in each pouch with bags of room to spare. That said they will fit in some repro garand belts with a little tinkering. Iv managed to get my belt to fit them.

cool - just about everyone says they don't fit into the normal garand belt - I'm more than happy to tinker lol, are they accessible enough to get at in a hurry when required?

They fit in SOF Garand belts as well, with a bit of stretching.

so after much pontificating I had decided to get a bar belt (good for my m14 too then) .

And then you go and re-iterate they fit into the sof belt $%%&^.

My question if you don't mind is how tightly? As I say I want to be able to grab one quickly and if possible store one quickly too.

Is that possible with a garand belt, it isn't really with the bandoleer as they are just too snug.

Would obviously get the garand belt if they can be made accessible enough for a high stress situation (like say having to change a mag mid fire fight LOL)

Easy enough to stretch, just ease them in and leave them for a week or so,turn them around halfway through.
The SOF cotton bandoliers fit them as well.
You're buggered with G&G though.

I personally found the bandoleer just too tight for the ics mags when I'm in a hurry, ok when airborne as can quickly store the empty mag in a trouser pocket but when infantry I spend ages trying to put the mag away in the bandoleer lol.

Remove the base plate, cut the fins off the LHS, and glue the leftover into your mag well. It will now fit into cartridge belts.
