VSR mag release tag

Postby Lord Elpus » Sat Sep 29, 2018 2:41 pm

At the Abbeville game last week using just bolt action rifles, changed more mags than I can ever remember on boltie's. Never had problems before with stuck in mag, have always made sure everything is good with this. Well last week one particular mag was being a real pain in the smle, certain times whilst scrabbling to remove it, all I could think of was "don't panic Mr Mannering!"
So now I've converted most of my vsr mags to have a little welding rod stirrup pull fixed on..........no more sticking mags!

Give me a big enough hammer and a place to stand and I could fix the world.
i'll kill a man in a fair fight or if i think he's going to start a fair fight or over a woman or.......
a problem shared is a problem halved ,but an advantage shared is no advantage at all

Quite easy to do, I used 2.5 drill bit, drilled the hole at a slant, at the top of the finger grip semi circle, the run the bit through the two holes together. I know there's a void there, as I've had these type of mags apart before.
I used welding wire, just because it was a hand, I've done some now with 2.5 copper wire from mains cable, any wire will do really as long as its strong enough, could use nylon cord if you want.

Went on the snipers uk forum to put this up,.........someone has already done this using cord, another good idea already exploited.
