Big thanks to you all, chaps. Everyone played their part in the team. Thanks for kit loan, DB and Del - I think I looked the business! Even Dickie Underwood liked it.
Although relatively new to the scene, we outshone some other groups with our authentic living in the field - cooking from the fire all weekend. (Seeing some long-established reenactor type walking past with two styrofoam cups of tea / coffee, made me realise that.)
It was great to do that little scene with the US medical group - they're very keen to link up with us again.

Cracking event - loads of public (many of whom were very interested in what we were doing and who we were portraying - makes a change from 'can hold your gun mister') and a good sprinkling of vets who were great to chat to.
Weather held out, which was nice, blummin cold Friday night though. Pitch position was perfect - book that area again for next year ASAP!
Soirée with the 93rd Evacuation Hospital worked very well - never knew Gaz could act so well, fighting the medics off until he was knocked out with a morphine jab.
I'll post up some pics tonight (I don't have time at work I'm afraid).

Great event and great to see you guys there,.... an excellent display chaps, well done Dave and all you guys.
Hope you enjoyed the battle,.... your vehicles performed on the button as expected and looked the biz as always.
fantastic weekend lads the best for me so far. chomley.forester.steiner.great to have you in the 16th. we all worked well together and its crap its the last show of the year.hilight for me was the hurricane flying just over the trees.big thanks to dave, trev the chef and the man with the tampon on his head.awesome.
Now i have had time to gather my thoughts just wanted to say what a brilliant weekend, got there midday Fri to lend a hand with the finishing off for the display, once the fire was on the go and we had fed it was time for a beer or 2 around the camp fire.(01.30hrs endex) Even on the 1st night the questions started.......what was the SS doing in Afrika.... (from other groups) All seemed very interested with the answer and pleased that the 16th are doing something a little different. The plot we were given was a prime spot as the MOPs started to arrive Saturday, they were naturally funnelled past our display, and what an amount of people it was non stop.....pleased that they were happy to ask questions, ask for photos with us and on the vehicles, young and old,(it put a smile on CW,s face) the veterans were more than happy to talk to us and have a laugh and joke which was pleasing as i did feel a little apprehensive with the vets but didn't need to worry as they seemed to be the last ones with any concern with what we were portraying. I did notice Steiner seemed to get a good crowd round him, perhaps they thought he was a little more approachable as he had got the red cross arm band on,( as he's explaining the In's and outs of the panzerschreck)
as Saturday drew to a close everyone was pleased with the day and looking forward to Sunday. That too was a great day not as many MOP,s but never the less a successful day, the only thing i would like to say is a thank you to all involved. DB,s enthusiasm to get the 16th going Trev's blinding cooking,Johns tuition on the qwerks on the Vehicles, Gaz and Miff for the staging on for 2 days in the trench and the humour(zippo inc)Andy the display front man and not forgetting CW........
Oooh i know........... for the custard
(that we never got) (maybe a good thing?)
