I'm sure this will get moved to the wanted section but as far as I'm aware there are 2 options:

http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/caw-m1928-me ... LoVN0esWSo

for everything, if you can find it in stock and have the money,

or do what I did, get a square bit of steel tubing the same with as the rails that fix the upper and lower receiver together, cut it to the depth of the top reciever, stick it on top of the m1a1 reciever and cut and shape the bolt handle and ejector space, then paint.

then order a Cutts compensator from the thread above yours in the sale section, they fit persectly.

I didn't bother with the finning on the barrel as it wasn't bothered with alot on the A1.
I also added original furniture as I liked the look more, doesnt matter if it looks abit aged, it wasn't a brand new gun at the start of the war.

Or you could sell that thompson and buy the new King Arms EBB 1928 thomspon as its a thing of beauty and the blow back is excelllent (Y)

WPG have the correct KA 1928 wood kits, however the foregrip won't fit an M1A1 barrel.
I'm with dcheetham on buying a 1928 rather than trying to convert a M1A1,LWA had the non EBB version on sale for £180 last time I looked.
Good call on the Cutts btw, wondered if they fitted KA

I managed to fit my wooden front hand guard to my 1928 ribbed barrel with a lot of cutting and drilling :)
I used my bench tile cutter to do 90% of the work to make it smaller for the guard to fit
