EXTRA INFO: One of the first Shoei MG42s to come out, had to wangle it from a contact in Japan who got it and sent it as soon as it was out in Japan. The hard work is done for you as getting a working gas line with inline adjustment valve was a rectal nightmare and involved a visit to Powerball in Aldershot. However, this is all in, and you can get standard fitting paintball gas to work with the gun. Gas feed works the recoil action for more realistic shooting 'feel' and excellent sound without having to quite reach for the earmuffs. We cheaped out in the end and had CO2 running through as proof of concept. I recommend compressed air tanks as the CO2 cools down far too quickly for consistency of power, plus you start to worry about the life of the hop if you run too much CO2 through it. Fits great onto the Lafette stand (but we sold that separately). Not likely to be 'softing anytime soon due to kids, loft now needs clearing for brightly coloured plastic toys that sing songs. Due to time, please also bear in mind that CO2 tanks will need retesting.
(edited to clarify the 8mm and 6mm thing. 8mm refers to 8x57 cartridge. 6mm BBs is the actual calibre shot. Just realised this after looking through some of the other sales posts with Marushin K98s)
I have been asked for pictures. Here are a few pictures of the gun itself as it is now (in the loft). A lot of the extra kit is boxed up at work and I will post these when I have assembled the extras.

If you don't like the bakelite grips and stock fitted on the gun, here are the Shoei wood parts, bipod, feed tray (for the 7.92 length cartridge) three Shoei mags, Shoei muzzle brake, three gas bottles, original manual in Japanese.
I have revived the old JKDO page relating to the work done on the gun, with pictures etc
