If you are unfortunate enough to be captured, please follow these guidelines.

As soon as you are captured, consider yourself to be disarmed, even if you have weapons secreted on your person. Your magazines will be unloaded into a bag. You are not allowed to resist capture and must endure whatever the enemy put you through, until a chance to escape presents itself. You will NOT be tied up (damned h&s!) but, please, consider yourself to be restrained in some way!

Also, consider yourself to have been thoroughly searched. Please hand over any maps, notebooks, etc. It is vital that you do not draw on maps, nor write down any grid references, codewords, etc, as they will assist the enemy should you be captured. If you absolutely have to write stuff down, write it on something small enough to shove in your moouth and eat before capture!

The only information you are allowed to give is name, rank, serial number and date of birth. Any other questions should be replied to with "I cannot answer that question". Take your time when replying. (Feel free to make up your own 7 figure army number and, for a suitable date of birth, just use your own birthday but, for the year, subtract your age from 1944. We'll assign "rank" on the day).

When given your orders, you will have some basic "escape & evasion" contingencies. These will consist of emergency rally points, where you can go to ground and link up with friendly troops and recover weapons and ammo from arms caches. If a chance to escape presents itself, take it! You could tie down enemy resources while they look for you.

Here is a list of wartime number block allocations so you can get your made-up number correct for your parent regiment

So Pete, do we hand over all concealed weapons on capture? Do we get to keep our primary weapons but with all our bbs confiscated?

Or have I got it wrong again?

I don't think it necessarily worked like that. My grandad was born and bred in Kent and yet ended up in the Bedfs & Herts regiment even though he'd never set foot outside Thanet. I mean how many of the Coldstream Guards come from Coldstream?

Oooh... Really? Deep undercover with a bright red beret is it? You'll recall how well that worked at Op Varsity :giggle:

OBLI will be my original regiment - I've moved on since then.

(They only wore red berets at Varsity to show they were airborne for that particular op.)

No need to hand over any concealed weapons, just consider them to have been found and removed. Your main weapon and magazines will be taken from you and unloaded. You may get them back at a later point.

Yes, the general idea is that if you are captured, consider yourself properly searched and all weapons and intel captured. No need to actually hand stuff over, and certainly no need to try any heroics.

If you get the opportunity to escape on foot because the Germans have dropped their guard do it, but please don't pull a pyro from your pants and scream kamikaze!

Just do what Pete has advised and take your time...and act like a pussy.

No.

Please, if you have the opportunity to escape, just leg it.

Taking weapons will be pointless really.

We have a procedure for that.

The main point is to avoid capture....not think about how you're going to escape!

Besides, the chances are escaping a very low...so it's academic really.

No, please don't manhandle weapons off people.

OK, for clarity. If you have access to a weapon that has been left then you are free to use it against the enemy. However, you must drop it before you do a runner.

This is an airsoft issue more than anything. We don't want people running off with other's weapons. We will have a contingency to get kit and weaponry back to escapees, but I imagine the opportunity will be a rare one.

Remember, it's likely that you'll be sensorily deprived whilst being interrogated.

Of course I was joking, I wouldn't want to be ground tackled by anyone, especially at an airsoft game.

I was just thinking if the opportunity presented itself to pinch something I would, but like you say, leave it on the deck for the owner to retreive it shortly there after.

Besides which, we arent going to get captured anyway ;) :good:

what happens if we get the oppertunity to kidnap their CO? do we have to place him on the ground as well before we leave

"Will you stop talking about the war!!"
"What, you started it!"
"We did NOT start it!"
"Yes you did, you invaded Poland..."

Guys, if you get captured, you're fucked.

You're going to taken out of action, subjected to interrogation whilst under sensory deprivation and you'll lose any intelligence you're carrying.

It's highly unlikely you'll have any opportunity to escape.

DON'T. GET. CAPTURED.
