Well I can only have moustache if I have a beard and then remove the non-moustache parts for a day, because without the context of my uniform I look like an idiot with it. As I have a fancy dress party on Sat, and only a WWII brit' costume, I may have to sacrifice beard for a moustache at that event and be all clean shaven in the Ardennes (incase you wanted a moustache friend... or whatever)

On the 'fire-power' point I am totally un-knowledgeable on airsoft weapons but do I understand that Green Gas weapons are inferior in cold weather?

I would offer the use of my no.4 project mate, but I think the bolt sears are on the way out, and the thing doesnt always cock back, wouldnt want your enjoyment of the game be dampened by a useless firearm! If i manage to get it sorted, I'll bring it along and you're more than welcome to use it.

More kindness, thank you.

I shall have fun regardless, I can be a medic or just tool up on grenades, they looked fun last time though I was too scared to use them.

In CiA games, we use combat medics. You'll need a gun! ;)

Hi all, as this is going to be my first event, I will be bringing along a Kar98, and am looking for a sniper role if you need one, have been told I am dangerous with my L96 bolt action in skirmish games but that is with a great scope, I can't afford a SMLE or NO:4 till late next year so the Kar98 is the best I can do.

"What, you started it!"
"We did NOT start it!"
"Yes you did, you invaded Poland..."

Nowt wrong with the K98, glad you are a crack shot!
(For WW2 bolt action is just regular infantryman but if you can live up to your reputation then I'm sure you will tasked to a special task when the opportunity arises  )

I shall try and do my best, not sure if I can get a scope for it in time, unless any body here knows where I can get a Kar98 scope and fittings from?

Heh, if you get a scope then you will be the sniper! Most players seem to cope well without - I just use the 1.5x 'sharpshooter' scope. If you want to have a go with that then I'll bring it along (if it's the Tanaka you have) but it's more for target acquisition rather than 'sniping'.

I've got one of the D-boys kar98's on the way, should be picking it up on thursday night, i even have a scope spare but not sure yet if it will fit untill I get the gun, as a beginner I couldent justify paying nearly £500 on a gun this early in the game so went for the D-boy

Ah, I don't think my Tanaka scope will fit the DBoys rail...

I shall find out on thursday night if my scope will fit, I have an old 4X mag scope that will work with a re-paint or a modern 12X telescopic scope on my L96 I could transfere at a pinch, I have been tempted to put some more sand bag material around my L96 and take that instead, but the FPS is at 480, and cant justify that kind of fire power at this event.

Two men of the British team will be designated as explosives experts. The task is to booby trap fuel and/or ammunition dumps in an effort to prevent unauthorised access. You will be provided with charges and ancillary equipment and must work as a two man team. You will be tasked by, and answer to, Major Badham who is controlling dumps security.

PREREQUISITE - team must wear thick leather gloves at all times while handling explosives

Should British players be wondering about squads then wonder no more!

We will be working as a cohesive single force until nearing lunchtime.
If we have possession of the mortar then we will need a three man mortar team, otherwise it will be a two man demo team plus two rapid reaction squads. As I don't know some of you yet I'll make a decision of who does what on the day, once I've seen how you shape up.

Does that mean you want us all as Oxf&Bucks?

In the original blurb you said there was a requirement for SAS recon. and I was planning my kit around that, I was going to wear my windproof smock + a mix of Brit & US webbing kit.

Sounds good to me Pete. I'll plunge you deep into enemy territory (if they have any!).

All I meant was, without wishing to tell what is going to be happening and when (where is the fun in that?), that the Brits will be working together in the initial stages, not that they have to dress the same.
