Gadge... I wore my MkV today... had a nasty bang on the head as I managed to charge (very fast) into an overhead bit of metalwork.

Result... the bolt in the helmet banged down onto the top of my head and made a small cut and a small but quite tall bump... I was slightly concussed, but nothing more than a minor inconvenience.

So... I will be covering that bolt with some padding of some sort before I use the helmet again.

The helmet itself held up well though!

LOL - I always find when I wear hard hats on building sites I'm always bumping my head - I'm sure I wouldn't had I not had to wear the blooming things!

Question - how is it possible to tell whether Yith is concussed or not?

Here's Anne.

And here's me.

Can you guess who used up all the scrim on her helmet before I got any?

Sorry in advance for muddy boots. They will of course be sparkly for the "parade".

Dont touch a thing guys. The boots are good for guys that have been in the field for a few days(it rained heavily all through market garden)

I have only 1 problem, on the thumbnail it looked like you had a bren barrie, and on the pic its a thompson. You will have to get that fixed :D

Er - we only found out what blanco is a couple of weeks ago.

We understand it comes in different colours so what colour do we need?

And are we right in presuming it's a smelly, rotten job, in which case we might pass?

Not a smelly rotten job (though does have a distinctive smell, sort of poster paint-ish) - takes a little time if you are thorough. It does make everything look right though. Just like US WW2 webbing looks naff when it's new but get it grubby and used it looks the business!
