Well.... the colonel who founded the Stafford way back in the day wa sactuyally told to found his regiment in cheshire but when he got ther ehe didnt like the look of it much so founded his regiment in staffordshire instead... :)

True story and part of Gadges Staffords propaganda no 45 in an occasional series.. collect the set!

Bizzarley Staffords and Cheshires are now the same regiment 'Mercians'.

Try and get 'theirs is the glory' on DVD as well

thats about as close to watching the battle as you can get.

It was filmed in late 45 on location at anhme by the veterans themselves who all play themesleves and do what they did and say what they said!

Its probaly the only time you'll see ack pack flamethrowers really really working with live ammo , and see pnathers working and then hit wiht piats... real tiger 2s on fire etc etc etc...

Bridge too far is awesoem but their is something about watching the real veterans assaulting positons that smakes you feel very humble...

Do we have to provide our own orange arm band?

This is turning out more like a fancy dress party than reenactment for me

Jeep sounds great! However we're not taking bookings for US! Its Brit, Polish, Dutch or German only this time!

I want to go to this but I doubt I'll have the money to get my FJ kit sorted in time so put me down Dutch resistance. I'm sure I'll be able to find something to wear.

Richard Vaughan (G33/40, CA33 just in case)

I'll have to have a think about a proffession. I always used 'The butcher' as my H&D2 partisan nickname but I guess I'll have to think of something else as thats taken.
