Ok chaps this is how a real orders set goes.

First off generic orders for the whole side. this is verbal before we board the horsas

GENERAL UK BRIEFING

Men we are about to drop into enemy occupied Holland. It is imperative we seize the bridges over the Rhine and provide an airborne carpet over which the tanks and men of XXX corp. can cross into Germany and end the war.

Our mission today is to seize the Arnhem Road bridge and hold it until relieved. We must also capture and hold the Hartenstein hotel and the St Elizabeth hospital.

Shortly we will embark on our transports, upon landing the South Staffords will secure the landing zone here (point to map). Once the 2nd Parachute Battalion arrive we will form up into sections and receive your ground brief from your NCOS.

Should you become separated from your section remember that 2 Para will move to seize the bridge here (points to map) and the South Staffords will take and hold the Hartenstein and Hospital here and here (points to map)

(then on the ground NCOs are briefed thus by myself, ncos take this info and brief their sections.)

UK Orders

Ground
As per UK briefings you all have your maps. Now we are on the ground we can see that damage has been heavier than photo reconnaissance showed. Be aware we will be fighting in built up areas and may encounter hasty ambushes and the like from an enemy that knows the ground. Also be mindful of civilians in the area and minimise their casualities.

Situation
We have made the landing with minimal causalities, we must now make our way towards our objectives.

Enemy forces: Enemy resistance is expected to be light, mainly volksgrenadier and garrison units composed of elderly or reserve soldiers, luftwaffe troops and a kreigsmarine NCO school. Dutch Resistance intelligence reports have been complaining about the presence of enemy armour to the north in small pockets but this cannot be verified at present by our G3 int. officer.

Friendly forces: Elements of the South Staffords and 2nd Parachute Battalion are on the ground. We expect further reinforcements from XXX corp. within two days maximum and the Polish drop in tomorrow. Dutch resistance workers in the area may try to contact us to offer assistance and can be recognised by their orange armbands. Be aware SOE and OSS operatives are in the area.

Mission
Our immediate mission is to capture and hold both ends of the Arnhem road bridge and secure a divisional headquarters at the Hartenstein Hotel.

Execution
2 Para will travel Northwest towards the bridge along Markstraat and seize the objective.
En route 2 Para will secure the marshalling yard to assist in the movement of XXX corps support and ammunition.

The South Staffords will secure landing perimeter and send a fighting patrol to secure the Hartenstein Hotel. Once the hotel is secure HQ will be established there.
Once HQ is established periodic fighting patrols will be sent out to sweep the area of enemy presence.

Command and Signals
Command structure remains the same.

Challenge and response:
(samples)
AM
Challenge: Air
Repsonse : Bourne
PM
Challenge: Bren
Response: Carrier
(chomley please add the real first two off the sheet i gave you)

Service and support.

We are receiving limited supply drops from the RAF and expect the Polish Parachute Brigade to drop by tomorrow morning at the latest.

Be advised to be mindful of ammunition expenditure as we relying on the fly boys to keep us in the fight.

Any questions?

(this BTW is idiot proof and works with children so should work with airsofters... samller groups for briefings mean you are less likely to mess about and not listen and NCOs having to pas on the info means they fully internailse it...)

Briefing makes total sense to me. If 15+ year old ACF cadets could understand it when we briefed them, then it should work on Airsofters. After all, CCF and most Airsofters do tend to share similar "abilities" - i.e. NOT doing what they're told to!
