Not as accurate as one of warrens but a reasonable alternative?
"I think we are in rats' alley - Where the dead men lost their bones."
Yes... not bad at all...
It obviously doesn't stand up to close scrutiny, but does show what can be done and is certainly the right basic shape.
I guess one thing that definitely helps here is that the barrel of the SMLE is completely hidden! That must make it a lot easier and is not something I had considered.
Hmmm... I want one... lol! I now wish I hadn't sold my old VSR-10...
Anyway, this isn't a No4... so it shouldn't compete with Warren's at all, though his SMLE No1 MkIIIs at £600 ish are a little expensive.
Heh... I have spare top wood for an SMLE in the loft and a deac to copy... I should give this a go.
I'm still working on my denix SMLE conversion, hoping to have something to show off in the next couple of weeks!
It has, however, been somewhat more complex than originally envisaged, and certainly not something i'd plan on doing again!
i like it, ,,,,, just need a dunkirque period british load out and i am set lol.
North Africa is easier...
Its weird how the guys either side of you look quite ridiculous but you in desert rats kit look ok....

The guy on the right (with the Ghillie). His uncle was a Chindit apparently... I had quite a long chat with him about it... He was also in Force 136.
There's a picture of him with wingate and an RAF liason officer... I can't find it online unfortunately.
