Ok please don't flame me but is it completely necessary to blanco my webbing?

Also if I do and I am portraying Normandy landings am I right in using 103?

Cheers

If you're in the front line at Normandy then yes you should have it blancoed.

And the best colour to choose would be KG3.

Thankyou for the reply

Am I correct in thinking that's the one that SOF sell?

SOF sell all sorts!

Warren of Shoot and Scoot does a good cheap repro.

But the one from SoF you want is BE109.

Or make your own!

I can heartily endorse the DIY version, I've found it to be the best match to the original out of the three options listed above.

...or you could buy some real genuine Blanco off of eBay and get stung for a small fortune

This page shows a good comparison between all three (Shoot 'n' Scoot's, SoF's & the D.I.Y approach) against real Blanco (both fresh and worn): http://www.blancoandbull.com/repro-blanco/shoot-scoot-kg3-repro/ The main comparison pictures are down the bottom.

IIRC, Warren has "corrected" the colour match as suggested on that page, but I don't know if there's been a fresh comparison done since.

I had some of the new Shoot 'n Scoot stuff that I reviewed for "WW2 Reenactor's" mag'.

It's pretty much spot on. Thumbs up from us anyway.

Hey Gadge, I was just thinking we havn't heard anything on the forum from you for about a month - and up you pop!
How's the treatment, are you up to full strength & fit-as-a-fiddle now?

Not sure yet chap.

I'm having a bit of time off until my MRI scan and the results. Then I've another apointment with the chronic pain clinic as I can currently feel the pain through the fantanyl so i'm probably going to have to up the dose or have local anatheti injections in my leg/lower back.

I'm currently hoping it's not going to kill my hobby permanently but at the moment i'm not in a fit conditon to skirmish which sucks.

Blancoing guides mention where not to apply blanco, but don't always show it.
Could someone provide pictures of the backs of belt ends (where they fold around), holsters, etc. please?

Its just trial and error really. Dont put it on areas that come into contact with your uniform. *however* i tend to blanco the whole lot these days backs and all and i've never had an issue with it messing up serge if its brushed down properly once its dried.

OK.
Mine's likely not going to see serge, only a Denison.
Any "special precautions" WRT using the SnS liquid stuff?

As far as belts go, i dismantle mine completely and do the entire outer face, even the bits that would fold under.

Regarding the rest, like gadge says, i've blanco'ed the backs of stuff, (usually by accident when i'm not paying attention!) and had no problems.
